A good place to register domains?

I'm looking into register a domain for one of my friend?s websites, but I'm not quite sure where to start. There are so many services available, so I wanted to get a second opinion before using one service. Any suggestions? Personal opinions/experiences with certain registration companies?

I was going to suggest directnic as well but JJ beat me to it.
Setting things up with them is easy and one of the best priced deals out there.

Don't forget to take advantage of the free mail forwarding service they offer either. I went over a year with http://www.szilvagyi.com being registered before I figured out that I could make [email protected] or [email protected] without any additional charges. It's not advertised very well but it is a free service to have the mail forwarded to an existing account you have somewhere else.
