I don't think I've seen a film that is on the same level as this one. It was one of the first animes that I watched and I have to admit that I was kind of stunned, especially after remembering my childhood days of Transformers, Astroboy, and Robotech. The dubbed version is fairly good, but at times can sound like the actors are reading the script rather than getting to know the lines beforehandThe uncensored japanese version makes a little bit more sense and I've always found that japanese/subtitles makes the film so much more enjoyable. The second disc, I think has the final two or three chapters on it. These are supposed to be a continuation of the previous but no matter how many times I watch it (and maybe I'm missing something) I can't understand how it works out that way. Everything seems so peaceful. Rather than ruin it for you, check it out. I still rate it.

Urotsukidoji is a very good film. Although the animation shows its age the story is fascinating, there?s a lot of character development, intense demon fights and a well-fitting moody score! This is not really hentai; although strictly a mature film it is not erotic nor does it revolve around the [not very graphic anyway] sex scenes, but uses them as plot devices, often leading to violence or mass destruction. A true classic in which no character is completely hero or villain, this film is strongly recommended.
