Not too great..tones of pixilization throughout each episode.

Audio:

Sound sometimes cut off, or the volume fluctuated.

Subtitle:

Horrible. That's all I'll say is 'horrible'. You can't make sence of anything.

Comment:

The series itself is EXCELLENT, but this boxset is really horrible--I'd recommend the FX or MAC versions.

Okay. In fast scenes the screen went blocky. Episodes blended into one another. It was strange watching the end of an episode only to see it again repeated at the start of the next episode.

Audio:

Audio seems okay, but not anything more than average. The audio seems to go loud then low, which is very annoying.

Subtitle:

Okay, the subtitles are absolutely terrible. The paragraph synopsis on the dvd case doesn't make sense. They mis-spell things like "sixteen" into "sisteen". It really has ruined the whole series. Also, the subtitles actually cuts out for 5 minutes a time. The worst had to be in the first episode, the subs dissapeared on the most important scene. I don't mind the poor visuals, as long as the subs are good. But they were both terrible

Comment:

Yikes, I wish I'd read these reviews before buying this pathetic excuse of a dvd set. But fair enough, the set cost under $9, which I thought was too good to be true. I was right. Its not even worth that. The dvd case is terrible. A flimsey black case with some little bits of foam sponge to keep the dvds slipping about in the case. I watched the series in fast forward. Terrible I know, but the subs didn't make sense and I wanted to get the series over and done with. Stter clear! get another set

They're OK. The Openings and Endings are usually cut-off though. There's even some missing scenes!

Audio:

Pretty Good.

Subtitle:

Absolutely Wretched- Painful to watch. NONE of the names are correct- None of the sentences make any sense, and it overall ruins the experience if you rely on the subtitles.

Comment:

Get the FX Version. It's much better..

Video: 3/5 The quality is ok, but not really good. Audio: 3/5 The audio is also not so good... it could be better. Subs: 1/5 The same subs as on the AS-Set. They are a catastrophe. Nearly all the names are wrong and theres no sentence that's gramatically correct. There's also just one opening and ending on each DVD. Don't buy this set. Get the FX-Set. That's a direct RC1-Rip with great subs.

The series: Good artwork, nice music, good characters. However, the story isn't all it's cracked up to be. Will not appeal to many people. The DVDs: Audio and video are very good. The subtitles are awful, very awful. All bad points are there (name changes, lousy translation, very bad timing). Verdict: If you are a diehard fan of fushigi yuugi, and you are ready to withstand the lousy subs, then you might want to give it a try. Otherwise, I advice you to steer clear.

The retailers here have a tendency to misrepresent. This is the first title that i purchased that was in a deluxe box set. I was under the impression that it was original and limited edition. OMG i fell for that. Anyhow i am a Fushigi Yuigi fan. This anime is really top notch in art work, one step above Fushigi Yuigi. However the subs were pretty much awful. At some important parts, the subs were totally gone. Tooya is known as Ten Nights and the english names they use are a bit sucky. The subs are pretty much bad standard in terms of spelling and grammar. After reading, you have to think 1-2 secs to interprete what they are trying to say. I thought this title was the worse subs i will ever buy. I was wrong. Tales of Eternia is even worse.
