Video:

This was a TV rip, and it wasn't that good of a TV rip either. You can even see the occasional bullitens on the bottem of the screen. I don't know how the 1st reviewers came to the conculsion that the video was good, don't think they even watched the DVD.

Audio:

The audio wasn't so good on this release either. Its the audio you would expect from a TV broadcast basically.

Subtitle:

The subs on this DVD were from fansubs, thought they neglect to sub the songs in this release weren't subbed, a few mispellings and occasional missing lines

Comment:

I would strongly recommend that you get the official region 1 release which I here will be released pretty soon (1/22/03 at the time of this review). Don't bother with this set otherwise, just get the fansubs.

Yup, this comes after the Xmas special. But it doesn't matter if you watch ep 25 before the specials IMO. Anyway, if you like Love Hina, you will also like this special. Video: Same as Xmas special. A little unsharp and some ghosting. 3/5 Audio: Very good for me. 4.5/5 Subs: Very good. 4.5/5

Video is a little bit unsharp and there is a slight ghosting effect.

If you liked Love Hina TV, then you will want to watch this too.

NOTE: My copy was out of the 2 DVD gatefold set, which contains both specials, but the discs are the same as the single versions.

The video quality in this dvd is second to none. No wrinkles, distortions, shaking or anything else that sometimes appears on other hk dvd's. Some people complain about a ghosting/shadow effect that I did not notice. 4.5/5

Audio:

Sound quality is egually awesome with nice clear stereo sound with no humming. 5/5

Subtitle:

Subbing. Now this is how subbing should be done. Very understandable with perfect timing. Definately no engrish speakers writing these subs. 5/5

Is it a pefect hk dvd? Almost. The menu screen is just a still picture. Nice to look at but boring at the same time. The series have a nice animated menu that this disc is missing

It's a good DVD, but the video has some ghosting issues. Which basically means sometimes images fade into the background instead dissappearing. Hard to explain but nothing to keep you from buying this DVD

this is for the new gatefold version I got, people have said other versions are good, but just to let you know about my version I got the video has a very annoying shadowlike tracer that follows behind the movent of anything that moves on the screen in much of the movie. As well as the frame rate or something seems to be off cause it is a little bit jerky
