The video was really good.

Audio:

The audio was very clear.

Subtitle:

Subtitles were very well done

I love Initial D...but I was a little sad that this was just a side story and did little to nothing to further the storyline. I also watched this after I watched the Initial D Movie (Which was the best video audio and storyline of the entire series-there was also the best special features of anime anime dvd that I own HK or US release).

If you are a huge Inital D fan you have to watch it and it is enjoyable, but understand that it is just a short side-story movie of the series.

5.1 sounds alright but sometimes the music goes way lower than the voices

Excellent subs

Comment:

The version I saw was a 2 disc special edition. This movie fills in the plot holes of the previous stages and is quite excellent!!

If you have the previous boxes, what are you waiting for? go get this. Continues in the tradition of initial D excellency. DVD quality is high as well, although video quality dropped down (slightly) from the previous boxes. Overall, very nice followup to 1st and 2nd stages.

Initial D: the movie By manga internation aka anime cartoon Audio: Fantastic. 4.5 out of 5 Video: Fantastic, ripped off dvd. Perfecto. Subtitles: Ripped from fansub script so you know they have to be good. Occasional spelling and grammatical errors but subtitles make up for it.

Well, this version has not been listed yet actually but the movie disc is the exact same as the 1-disc release so. Video: 4, Quality is great but there is motion blurring on SOME dvd players, and the aspect ratio is fubar. Audio: 5, just wow. Subtitles: 5, No engrish here at all, great subbing. Extra Disc (if you've got the 2-disc set): 5, great video, great extras, great audio and great subbing Review Equipment: XBOX w/optical audio & s-video to Philips FR 965 reciever, out to sony wega. edited by Teakay421 on 05 Mar 2002 8:15 pm

Video: 4.5 Video is excellent for this 4 part movie set. Animation quality is better than TV series. Maybe a DVD rip. Audio: 4.5 Excellent sounds. No problem here. Subs: 5.0 Fansub scripts. Subtitles were excellent. This movie is divided into four parts and a prelude to the next Initial D series: Battle Stage. A must for Initial D fans. Very recommended. edited by sytown22 on 05 Mar 2002 4:13 pm

This one is really good, the graphics are much better then in the 1st and 2nd stage. Video looked ok even though it was a bit dark, probably an LD rip. I heard some people say that it was originally a widescreen release but this is in 4:3 ratio, fullscreen that is. Some said that the picture looked stretched but I didn't really notice this. The audio was fine, nothing wrong with. Subtitles were very good. It seems AC did a very good job overall on Initial D. Again, I would definately recommend this if you liked 1st and 2nd Stage. It makes you wanna see 4th Stage ^_^
