Video:

Very good animation quality and the CG is very good. However, it is no where near as good as 3rd stage and just around the same quality of 2nd stage.

Audio:

Still has the same music but the music isn't really as good as you hear in the regular series.

Subtitle:

Subtitles are in top notch. Professional quality.

Comment:

For the record, this is an anime exclusive story. It is not in the original manga and you have not seen Impact Blue since their race with Takumi. Anyway, it's pretty cool you get to learn about characters that haven't made their appearence since.

Video:

This looks fabulous. With bitrates going up to (and allmost staying there all the time) 8-9mbs, this looks great. Even quite a deal better then 2nd Stage, which already looked great! Nothing to complain about.

Audio:

Perfect again. Has a 2.0 and a 5.1 track. Stereo sound great, and natuarally so does the 5.1, awesome!

Subtitle:

Nothing to complain about again. Except for one missing line I noted, it were perfect fansub-quality subtitles. If you're very picky you can change it to a 4.5 stars, but I didn't think that was worth it. Great.

Comment:

This OVA is pretty fun to watch. I found it too bad that the Sil-Eighty girls didn't get a part in the 2nd Stage, so it was fun to see them racing once again. Since it only runs 50 minutes, it doesn't bring too much, but for any Initial D fan it's a lot of fun again. And the DVD is perfect. Get it, if you've seen 1st and 2nd Stage!

Video: Really nice quality for the most part but there was one scene with a bit of flicker. Over all, very nice. Audio: The 5.1 track really is a 5.1 track. Very nice sound placement and sound effects. Unfortunately, the sound track isn't as good as the regular series. Subtitles: Excellent subs. Names are right, timing is on, easy to read... only prob is one or two dropped phrases. Just shy of an R1 release. Overall: This is a nice side story that takes place during the second and third stages of Initial D. The main focus is on Mako and what she wants to do with herself. The brief tit flash seems a bit out of place but I'm not going to complain. There isn't as much driving in this series as the first two stages. It would have been nice to add a third OVA for another race and a bit more character development. If you enjoyed the first three stages, then pick this up as a sort of after dinner mint.

Video seems to be perfect. Did worry me a bit when the intro started and it looked all pixelated but that was the intro on purpase :)

Audio:

Audio is what you expect ... perfect ...

Very good subs ... dident even see any problems with them ...

Top notch DVD. Excellent audio/video. Very good subs (fan sub). Only complaint is that it's a side story, so no 86 for you :( Nonetheless, initial D fans should get it.

Everything is perfect on this title. The video is DVD for sure (EXCELLENT), the audio is an EXCELLENT 5.1 japanese track (a real one of course! not a fake 5.1) and the subtitles are PERFECT too! (fansubs for sure). A must buy if you liked 1st and 2nd stage!
