Watching this on an HD capable widescreen TV I was able to notice quite a lot of problems with this set. The first disc has the most vid probs: rainbow effects in any fine lines, pixelation everywhere, and high-action scenes are filled with blockiness. The second disc has a lot less problems, but some are still apparent. The rainbowing effects are toned down a lot and almost completely disappear, but still some pixelation and some blockiness in action-filled areas. Not as much as the first disc though. I give the first disc a 3 out of 5, and the second disc a 4 out of 5... Average is my 3.5 rating.
Audio:
No problems that I noticed. I listened to the Japanese track the whole way through but spot checked the Eng dub. The English dub is horrendous, but there were no distortions in the sound or any audio problems. The Japanese track sounded clear and crisp the whole way through.

Everything was there, and I noticed no dropped subs at all, but whenever there were two sets of subs going on at the same time (either two people talking or a translated sign or something), whenever one set of subs would change, the subs would blink off for a fraction of a second and visually confuse you. For example, two people are talking at the same time, and one finishes his sentence before the other while the other guy's sentence is still on the screen... Both subs would flash off for a split second while the first guy's next sentence popped up, but this would make you believe that both sentences were new and it takes another fraction of a second for your mind to see that you just need to read the first line again (as both speakers' subs are white text). It's just annoying for the times that it happens, and doesn't truly detract from the story or whatnot, but it gets the subs a 4.5 and not a perfect score.
Comment:
As previously stated, this is a funny as hell show. I did not really like FMP! all that much due to all the heavy drama and the way that it just forgot the comedy-filled episodes near the end, but FMP? Fumoffu is nothing BUT comedy, and holy crap is it funny. Sagara and Chidori are the perfect comedy duo, and this show makes use of their timings and personalities better than I could have hoped. So if you liked the funny episodes of FMP! you'll love this show. Yeah, the video on the first disc is kind of weak, but the second disc makes up for it. I still recommend this set.

The video was ok. You can see pixlation around in every scene like on the characters hair and movements in action scenes. The series has vivid colors so you won't notice much of it unless you're watching it closely on the tv. The worst you can see it is in the extra section on the dics which just shows a preview of the next dvd volume that was released, the pixlation there was horrible, but its something you don't have to see.
Audio:
Audio was perfect. I didn't hear anything wrong with it in Japanese. I checked out the english dub ( ugh! ) and it also sounded perfectly.
Subtitle:
Perfect subtitles. My only complaint was that in some scenes when they show something like a letter or signs everything is subtitled so they run with it and it sometimes covers the whole scene and you can't see whats going on. It happens a few times but its from the R1 dvds so its a perfect rip. I gave it a 4.5 cause it gets annoying sometimes.

Mark it down! This is by far the funniest follow-ups to one of the best series out there!!. The Full Metal Panic! TV was a great mix of action and comedy. In Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu you get what you would expect from an already great series. This is one of the top 10 funniest anime's ever created. Sagara Sousuke is one of the best characters to ever grace the crazy military junkie persona. The way he handles every situation is a non-stop laughing fest!. If you wanna have the best time ever watching an anime series then this is definetly the best series to shoot for. This is a good set to pick up as well if you don't want to get the more expensive Region 1 DVD's. Also the good thing about this series is that it has great replay value, its not one of those anime series that you watch it once and just leave it aside collecting dust for months. I have seen it 5 times already ( I also own the Manga 3 disc version before I got this version ) and I just can't get enough of it, IT'S THAT GOOD!!! . Also be on the look-out for Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, it takes a little more to the serious side so action fans and every FMP fan should check it out, you can download the fansubs or wait till the Region 1 DVD's to start coming out in the US. Definetly pick Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu up, its the best money ever spent you won't regret it!!!!!!
