When slumbering gods (the Aragami) awake beneath modern Japan, a young girl (Momiji) is singled out to fulfill the timeless destiny of her family. Only a human sacrifice can save Japan from the imminent wrath of the aroused spirits. Enter the protector, Kusanagi orange skinned, cat-eyed former servant of the Aragami who is rebelling against the will of his masters and uses his super human powers to protect Momiji.
