16 x 9 Widescreen presentation , amazing video quality with increase focus on detail on EVERYTHING i think the video is from an R2 source great , in fact its awesome .... at least on a TV with s-video cable (5.0/5.0) on an LCD , i'll give it a 4.5/5.0 since you'll notice some compression, if you check the pics you'll see what i mean. but on TV you'll see zero-pixels so, that's why its 5

Audio:

only one track , Japanese Track its 5.1 Surround , very clear separate channels , done extremely well in some scenes tested using INSPiRE 5.1 Digital 5700 System Note, i got the fixed DVD that doesn?t have the synch problem ^^

Subtitle:

you have two , the original Japanese and English subtitle easy to read , on the spot and no problems what so ever note, only the movie is subtitled

Comment:

Drama , Comedy , and even action this anime is packed and you'll definitely enjoy it and have a good time Extras: Animax Making of Featurette + Theatrical Trailer , both not subtitled = 24 min movie = 91 min the entire DVD running time : 115 min. don't know why Fx put at the back 189 min. highly recommended

Video:

Excellent video quality - There is some great detail throughout the entire movie and the high quality of thei picture allows people to see every little bit.

Audio:

The original pressing of this movie was out of synch but those should have all been replaced. This version was stunning. I only listen with two speakers but there was still some incredible sound placement. Best of all was the dynamic range of this movie. From the loud crashes of cars to the quiet of falling snow you get to hear everything beautifully.

Subtitle:

These are great subtitles. Perfect timing and a great translation. My only complaint is that the font is a little on the small side. At least they don't interfere with the picture at all.

Comment:

I didn't check out any of the extras on the disc but the movie is great. It can get a bit heavy at times but the end is a bit of an up note so you don't walk away from this feeling like you do with other heavy movies (like Grave of the Fireflies). This is a story about a side of Japanese life that I've never seen presented before. It's great not only seeing what a bums life is like but how they got to where they are as well. Buy this movie! Watch it!
