Video:

I waited long for this set. But the long wait gave me the hope that they would return to DVD rip. But only the first 6 episodes were taken from DVD (see first 5 screenshots). Noticeable pixelation on fast action scenes and fast transitions. After that it's back to crappy TV rip with a lot of disturbances in the TV signal (vertical shadows, phantom pictures, see screenshots 6-10). Same "quality" as in the previous AV sets I have watched. On the last disc, the first 3 episodes are taken from a different source. No disturbances in the TV signal, but way too much brightness, contrast and color saturation.

Audio:

No problems on my simple stereo TV. I noticed no noises or disturbances in the TV-ripped episodes.

Subtitle:

Classical crappy HK originals. Same wrong names as in the previous sets I watched: Roof, Crook Bu, Sunkist, Wei Wei, Clock Dell etc. Bad grammar and some sentences were you just go "???", but if you listen to the audio, you can follow the story without problems. If you're interested in this set, you will probably have watched the previous sets. This is a rip of the AV set, so if you have seen one of these, you already know what to expect. The first 3 episodes on the last disc are taken from a different source (probably from the MI set). Those also have HK original subs. Different wrong names here. I had the feeling that those subs were slightly better, but maybe it's only because the subtitle font was nicer to watch.

Comment:

My guess is that this is a rip of the AV set, with episodes 124-126 take from the MI set. Maybe AV ripped those episodes for their set, or AC-MAC compiled them. And I really thought the Alabasta arc would end during the first episodes of this set, but it took the whole set. And still some open questions: Will Vivi leave Alabasta again and join the crew? Probably not, because in the last openings Vivi is absent. But who do we see onboard in this openings? Ms. All Sunday! Last that we know about her is that she lay in the underground temple, lethally wounded by Crocodile. Now how will all this figure out? Guess I will have to get the next set. But I really hope that they wait for all DVDs now, not only for 6 episodes.
