Video:

I notice very very little pixalation during action scenes, and everything else seems well done.

Audio:

Again, a great rip, no qualms.

Subtitle:

True, this is an R1 rip, and true, Funimation does two tracks, one for the dubbed caption, and one of an a traditional japanese sub. However, FX (and I suspect others also) used early releases of vol 13 for their rip which had production issues. As a result, episode 43 (The Masked Fighter Revealed) is knackered after the half way point. From there on the japanese subs come from ep 44, while the caption track is from the correct point in ep 43. This isn't an issue with FX's rip (such as bad mastering), but is an acknowledged flaw from Funimation who is accepting trade ins (of legit discs) and made new editions to fix the problem. The other two episodes are fine.

Comment:

Aside from the sub issue on episode 43, I havn't had any problems with the releases thus far. I wouldn't worry about finding a MAC or MI release, as I bet they have similar issues as all of the releases were done around the same time. Plus, it's only half an episode... Still a recomended buy if you got past the 25 episodes from "box" 1.

Video:

Flawless, perfect, breathless, freaking-sweet, wow. Those are my words for the video clarity on this boxset!

Audio:

Loud and Crisp, just the way I like it. ;}

Subtitle:

Rips from the R1, definitely. To correct Krakhed01, FUNimation always does a caption track (english dialogue exactly) and subtitle track (accurate translation). Both are from R1, not R2

Its Hakusho part 2. If you're looking at this, you probably bought part 1. Buy this NOW.

Video:

the video is ok but it has a slight jump to it but it's not a big deal. the fight scenes are so cool from the start to the end.

Audio:

the audio is good I did not use the jap but the eng is fine. all the bangs are there

Subtitle:

I only used the subs once but it looked ok.

love the show and i think you will to just give it a shot.

I had no problems with the video for this set outside of some very minor, almost unnoticeable, pixelation during various parts of a few episodes. But again this is easily overlooked and probably won't even be seen without really looking.

Audio:

Audio is perfect. Japanese and English audio are both available. I prefer English audio and I thought it was just fine. Everything was in sync with the video.

Subtitle:

Obviously an R1 rip once more. Subtitles go right along with the words, but you are given the option for a second subtitle that translates the Japanese voices. So you can either watch it with the R1 subtitles or the R2 subtitles basically. Subtitles are easy to read and don't interfere with the video.

Comment:

I was a little dissappointed that this set ended halfway through the Tournament, but I dismissed it since Part 3 has already been released and goes beyond the Tournament and into the Door to the Demon World saga. Another excellent FX rip and I'm really enjoying the Yu Yu Hakusho series.

Video:

great video quality, there is a minor jitter to the picture , but almost unnoticable, I am just picky, I never seen any pixelation on this set, beautiful picture, and as for the jitter it is the same on the uncut r1s, reason being is that this set is uncut it is the original unedited video, all the bloodshed etc is there.. the picture is awesome ...

Audio:

great audio, loud, crisp and clear...

Subtitle:

subtitles are well down , r1 ripps for sure...

I love all the box sets for the yu yu hakushos, I have all three so far... very well done, I had already seen a decent amount of this series on toonami, but really enjoyed watching it all over, being uncut its way more entertaining.... pick this set up...
