Video:

video is pretty grainy most of the time, fansubs were actually a bit better quality (and fansubs are tv-rips), video quality improves in later dvds but mostly stays grainy. colors are more vibrant in other episodes than others. there was one issue though, when the series progressed and started to use the 3rd OP song, the rest of the following episodes seemed to have an overlay. like when the 3rd OP Song first started, you saw 4 pilots spreading apart on a cliff; on the following episodes on the same dvd, you would see the video suddenly jump to the same scene and then the OP song proceeded other than this issue and the grainyness, the video quality wasnt that bad

Audio:

not garbled, only 2.0 japanese

Subtitle:

subtitles are pretty bad. grammar and broken english, they also tend to use varying names for both weapons and characters. IE: Kira sometimes is Jila, or Jira, or Lira even. Athrun is Asalan, or Asruan, etc. If you already have a good idea of how this anime goes, then you can easily skip over the misspelled names the subtitles for the first few episodes are pretty bad, with even some sections left out completely. as the series continues, there will be a few episodes here and there were the subtitles seem flawless, good spellings, grammar, etc. but then it will return to sour subtitles in the next subtitle.

Comment:

this anime is pretty good overall, definately an above average gundam series (and the most recent one as well), for hardcore gundam fans this is a must. for the rest of you out there, if you enjoy a good action anime with a few minor drama scenes intermixed, this is an alright choice

Video:

picture was great only one problem on the first dick. Last eps ad problems picture kept on freezing. but over all great.

Audio:

no problems was good all way through.

Subtitle:

It seemed like a couple of different people wrote them. They changed Kira name to all different type Like Jira, Gira.

Over all it was good. I liked the story and I am now watching it again.
