Reviews for Lament of the Lamb (Hitsuji no Uta)

Video:

R2 DVD rip, simply stunning graphic, no pixellation, blurry or grainy spot. The japanese symbol are shadowy during the ending sequence but it's no big deal. Beside that, the rest is perfect The graphic in Lament of the Lamb reminds of one of the movie made by Mizaki, I love the character's design in it

Audio:

To my surprise, there is no opening song or sequence, there is only a ending song called "Desire" who is sang by a man and a woman (forgot their name) great song, I didn't find any problem with the sound, Japanese 2.0 audio quality. The creepy atmosphere really get you going between Kazuna and Chizuna.

Subtitle:

Highly fansub quality. Almost perfect No wrong name Not one mispelled word The translation from Japanese to English is awseome, no engrishy phrase No missing subline The ponctuation/syntax is almost perfect I only find 3 errors in it: In Chapter 2, Emi tells Yaegashi: "Takashiro joined Art Club", there's a "the" missing in it In Chapter 3, when Chizuna speaks to herself, she says: " What's wrong with you" instead of "What wrong with me" In Chapter 4, there is a bad verb usage near the end Overall, awseome subs

Comment:

I really like Lament of the Lamb however, it was too short to my taste Here's the character of it: Kazuna Takashiro: a high school kid who's been looking about his family whereabout, he joined the Art Club because he loves drawing. When he discovers about his family bloodline, he knows he might do something drastic to somebody. When he has an attack, he can't tell whenever he reaches the sanity or insanity part. He tries his best to keep away from blood but who know when he'll snap and drink blood for his thirst. He really liked his sister despite having the same condition. He still doubt the reason his father died but the main reason was about Chizuna illness Chizuna Takashiro: When living with her parents, Chizuna chance of survival was slim bu when her mother passed away, her father keeps her alive longer by giving his blood to her. Still with a frail heart, she tries to live her life to the fullest. Doctor Minase, a close friend of her father, treats her regulary whenever she gets an attack, her condition is worse than Kazuna so she tries her best to support him in any way possible. Chizuna told Kazuna about her father passing away however it's not 100% of the truth. She tries to hide the truth about the Takashiro bloodline and all it's secret but she needs her brother desperatly knowing she doesn't have much long to live Yaegashi You: the 2nd and last member of the art club. She always had feeling about Kazuna but she never had the chance to tell him about her feeling. Once she saw Kazuna in pain during a class in the Art Club, she tries to help him but he refuses telling her to stay away from him before he loses it completely. She cares for him, but once she finds out that Kazuna doesn't live with his uncle anymore, she's thinking of staying with him forever at any cost. The storyline really talks about the relatioship between a brother and his sister and reaching the edge between sanity and insanity, whenever Kazuna gets an attack, who knows how will he react to it. You see Chizuna slashing herself to that he will drink her blood but if he does that, will he be himself again ??? That's the main reason why he doesn't want to drink her sister or a school mate blood. When Yaegashi finds out about his illness, she slashes herself and tells him that she wants to be with him forever. These are great moments in Lament of the Lamb but the scene where Kazuna and Chizuna, simply awseome to see, to drink or not to drink her blood, I really like the suspense between those two, you never know what's going to happen in the end. Some scene were disturbing to see like somebody slashes his arm or hands with a broken glass or a knive, deep enough to see a pool a blood appearing. The final scene with Kazuna and Yaegashi was sad to see (Kazuna finally makes up his minds about his sister and her) The ending was a very sad one (nobody tops Grave of the Firefly), never saw it coming until the middle part of Chapter 4 Overall, Lament of the Lamb was great, I really like the storyline a lot, it was pretty unpredictable on what was going to happen next, it keeps you on the edge of your seat but with only 4 episodes of 28 minutes, you'll be craving for more. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMANDED Extras: Interviews with the voic actor/actress of Chizuna, Kazuna and Yaegashi Packaging: The cover taken from one of the scene in Chapter 1 when Chizuna slashes her arm and tells Kazuna to drink her blood Good choice, Itadakimas

It's a r2 DVD rip and looks great...no pixealation that i noticed . This Anime is hardly a fast action title anyways ...

Audio:

Japanese 2.0 stereo, no problems detected

Subtitle:

I don't know where AV got this Subs (i don't think the r2s have English Subs)...but they are pratically perfect !!! no kidding.. apart perhaps some pontuaction issues, they pratically don't have any spelling mistakes (i don't think i noticed any !) , don't go off screen , are completely Engrish free , and make their point perefectly
