Overall:
Video:
The dark scenes are a bit too dark and there are a lot of dark scenes. Over all though the picture quality is reasonable... average even.
Audio:
This is the worst part of this release. The sound levels are very low so when you turn the volume up enough to hear it, you get that annoying amplifier buzz happening. At least the audio is in synch with the video unlike another title I reviewed recently. If you don't mind a bit of buzz in the audio, it's not unbearable.
Subtitle:
The subs are decent. The timing is a bit quirky... not very far off but not great either. Then there's the fact that it's a bit Engrishy... not horrible but requires a bit of thought at times. I guess the most important thing is that they get the story across reasonably well.
Comment:
This set feels like I'm missing something by not having watched any of the other Shin Getter Robo series. There's a lot of bits that feel like they are flash backs from a previous series. Overall, a decent set if you're looking for a lot of giant robot action but not the best out there.
