Overall:
Video:
The video was actually quite impressive. There was almost no pixelation that I could see and even though only when I looked closely at my computer screen. That means you definitely won't see any on a tv. I didn't notice anything in the way of artifacts or compression problems either, but I might have missed those. Anyway, to get to the point, excellent video quality. 4.5/5
Audio:
The audio was your basic 2ch stereo. Nothing to complain about but nothing spectacular either. However, the audio wasn't dull, hissy, or poppy. Very well done. 4/5
Subtitle:
Ok.... Here's where the major disappointment lies. The subtitles were generally well timed, but they sucked big time. The subtitles got the general idea of the conversation across, but other than that they were pretty much useless. The grammer was awful. The translations for alot of the stuff were way off in many cases, but most of the time they just used the wrong words. I know this because I kept up on Toriyama's World's scanlations, and for those who don't know, their manga translations are among the best out there. And one more thing, they got the names way wrong. For example, Killua was made Kea. I LOATHE it when they get names wrong. So a disappointing 2.5/5 for the subtitles on this set.

I love this series. This series rules. That's all I have to say. Thanks for reading.

A great set to have if you are like me and can't wait for the fansubs... Viewed on your basic, everyday 27" Magnavox TV Video: 5; Crystal clear, no glitches, no problems... looked like a DVD rip to me. Audio: 5; Sounded great, no problems. Subs: 4; If you have seen the fansubs for 1-26, you might be slightly dissapointed with these HK originals. However, i watched 31-62 in two days and had no problems understanding what they meant. Identical to part 2

Identical in quality to the HXH part 2 set, which isn't surprising considering they were both released on the same day. To sum up my review for part 2, very good video and audio with acceptable subs.
