Photon... :^/ Uhg... :^/ Video-- (4.5/5) Wow! This is acyually very good! Probably some of the best video for an HK dvd, sadly enough. Audio-- (3/5) Uhg. The audio wasn't so hot. Sort of hard to hear every now and again. Subtitles-- (4.5/5) The subtitles must have been ripped from the R1 or the fansub or SOMETHING, because they were very, very awesome. Content-- (1.5/5) Ermmm... I REALLY hate Photon... It'sa horrible anime, and I wouldn't sugest buying it on ANY format.

This is a great package containing all 6 OVAs of Photon: The Idiot Adventure. There are English dubs for those who really hate subtitles but I recommend watching it in Japanese with the English subs... The English voice acting is more painful to listen to than any subs I've had to read (with the exception of the ones on Noir). Content: Photon is a kid with superhuman strength and not much in the way of smarts. He's in charge of retrieving a holy relic (a magic marker) which has been stolen by his older sister. I could do a whole summary here but it wouldn't do the story justice. Watch this series, laugh at the funny bits and enjoy a good natured anime suitable for most (there are some sexual overtones and very cartoony violence). Video: Pretty good stuff. This was the first HK DVD I saw and I thought it was an R1 release. The picture did jump one or two times but other than that it's pretty good. Audio: First rate cd quality audio. Subtitles: These are ripped from the R1 release so they are professionally done and a pleasure to read. Overall: You can't go wrong with this release. Great fun and an entire series on one DVD.

This series is as funny as hell. Time well spent for those of you that like anime with a sense of humor. You got to see the way they intentionally cover up the male private parts in certain scenes. Video 4/5-very good untill fast motion scenes... then it gets a little pixalated. sound 5/5 hey, it's no digital surround but it is clear as any good stereo anime should be-selection of the english dub for those that likes to have both english and japanese dub. subs 5/5 direct r1 rip, how bad can it be? edited by wingsta on 02 May 2002 9:24 pm

I don't really know what I can say about this title other then that it is a straight rip from the R1 release. video : 4.5 sound: 4.5 subs : 5.0 There is some pixelation because the bitrate is not that high; 6 ova's(about 3 hours) on a dvd-5 takes it's toll. I don't know if any extra's were present on the R1 but this one does not have any. The subtitle font seems to be exactly like the R1 because it changes sometimes when people sing.
