Overall:
Video:
The quality stays consistent throughout these DBZ MI sets. The video and color is crisp and clear. No matter if I am watching it on a 34" TV or a 20" TV... The colors are so vivid and perfect. Pixelation, if any, is very hard to notice and may only be noticable by pausing or looking close to your television. *There is minor pixelation when Piccolo powers up in front of Imperfect Cell. Also there is a bit during their fight.
Audio:
The R1's have the original mono sound that DBZ was made in... Yet, MI decided to produce a pseudo-stereo effect with their sets. The result is no echoing and clear audio. It is not real stereo sound like Dolby 5.1, but this wasn't how DBZ was produced in the first place. You will hear every yell and action noise perfectly.
Subtitle:
The only thing usually wrong with the subtitles is wrong name translations. This has been proven throughout the sets. You can still easily obtain the experience of the story and know what is going on though. Krillin aka Kuririn is translated to "Krullin" and sometimes "Korin" Yamcha is translated to "Yimcha" Cell is translated as "Super" The Capsule Corporation is known as "Multi Plastic Corporation" The Kamehameha is known as "Roshi Technique" and the Genki Dama aka Spirit Bomb is translated to "Ki Bomb" Also the Solar Flare technique is translated to "Saiyo Fist" During the Bardock Special on the second disc there are a few name translation problems... Bardock translates to "Badac"... Prince Vegeta and the Planet Vegeta translate to "Bazda"... and Zarbon translates to "Saab" After all these minor faults, the subs are easily understood.
Comment:
This set only has two discs and the second disc only has three episodes on it... But, wait! The Bardock Special is added on the second disc. So the history of Gokou's father is unfolded. As for the series, it is now taking shape to the best part. The great battle with the Z warriors and Cell is on its way! Pick this set up.

What a great surprise it was to find the bardock special on de second half of the second cd. It's true 12 episodes are not much for 2 dvd's but this is just so great because the bardock special is the coolest dragonball ova, really! These boxes are just so great.
