Video:
The video is really nice no pix and very vibrant. Everything looks very happy and nice, even during the fight scenes.
Audio:
The audio is really good. The only thing is like on most anime dvds (at least the ones I have) the japanese dub is a little quieter then the english but theres no real problem there.
Subtitle:
The subtitles are IMHO more informative then the audio. They fill in some of the plot that the english dub screwed up. They are acutually a lot funnier then the english dub too.
Comment:
The first 3 1/2 disc are basically an introduction to the characters with some really good action. Then when you get to the legend of kyoto arc thats where it all goes down (in a good way) the battle between saito hajime and kenshin is one of my favorites by far. My favorite character soujirou seta (because he based off of souji okita) makes his apearence and everything just get better and better from there.

Just wanted to point out that the person below that reviewed this set made a mistake he is really reviewing the set for the 4 disk dvd set that has only japanese audio which was the frist set manga released, this set however is a direct rip off of the FX set which has both english and japanese audio so go read an FX review if you wanna know what the sets like.

Video:
Video has a slight problem at the beginning of the 4th disc, but that may just be my copy. Also, throughout this first set, there's a very faint line towards the top of thescreen that you can only really see when the camera pans up or down.
Audio:
Sound is clear.
Subtitle:
They're very readable. While some episodes are much better than others, they're all understandable. All episodes have at least minor timing & typos probs. (Hey, this is a region 0 DVD...get over it.) The worst episode has about a minute of dialogue missing. All the names are in Japanese, though.

Good design, good story, very enjoyable. You want to keep watching to see what else happens. Once the characters are set up, it's not too episodic, with the exception of a few multi-episode storylines. So you can go back and watch almost anywhere. The menu is in English, which is cool. Also, there are chapter breaks between episodes and in the middle of each. And, alhtough I normally consider this a really bad thing, there is only one opening and ending per disc. The opening at the beginning and the ending at the end. Why is it not so terrible in this case? The opening absolutely SUCKS!! The title song doesn't seem to match the series, let alone the opening animation, and I swear the chick who's singing is tone-deaf. I realize that most Japanese pop stars aren't terribly vocally talented, but ...
