Reviews for Someday's Dreamers Complete Collection

I thought the video was acceptable. The first 3 to 5 episodes were nice tv rips. Probably from a good cable source or a satelite source. Then the second disk and the last 3 episodes of the first disk were VHS rips (the company probably recorded them, cause they didn't have time to watch the show). Anyway, the animation is overall great! However I have to totally disagree with the first reviewer because I found this set to be very acceptable.

Audio:

The audio was Dolby Digital 2.0. It wasn't bad at all. It was actually pretty good ^_^. I loved the Opening song and ending song. I heard no background noise or any distortions.

Subtitle:

The subtitles were pretty much understandable except for the fact that on the second disk, they use chinese names for example Mon= Yume, Ajila=Angela, Amy=Oyamada. There were some grammar problems here and there and some spelling errors, but not ask worse as Fruits Basket Part 1 of MI. Now those subtitles were plain horrible, but I understood them anyway. The first 3 to 5 episodes, they use fansubs, which has correct names and grammar with little problems with grammar. Overall, totally understandable, you just need to listen to the japanese closely to understand the names. ^_^

Comment:

I thought this set was above average. It had average video, audio, subs. IT HAD A GREAT PACKAGING! The packaging was VERY small but very pretty. The plastic holders held the disks together very tightly, so they wouldn't fall out. I love this type of packaging. If you want more info about it or if you want to see what the packaging looks like inside. Email me @ [email protected]

tv rip, nicer on the first episodes, then it becomes 3rd generation vhs lookalike, with blended and washed out colours and some damaged vhs effect. in addition, since the beginning, on the opening you can clearly see an artifact like the vertical scanalations that are also on "legend of zu" from the live action line of animegod.

Audio:

this is really average, being this a tv rip and not of the best ones.

Subtitle:

the subs are quite good for the first 3 or 4 episodes, original names and not so bad english. then they become engrishy at best. chinese names, unintelligible wording and phrases. actually I'd recommend this only if you have a basic knowledge of japanese, since it's really easy to get what's being said.

Comment:

crappy set. avoid and wait for the r1 ripped boxset which will come hopefully soon. no extras, crappy menu with the vertical scanalations showing proudly.
