Reviews for Magic Knight Rayearth OVA
Video:
Audio:
Subtitles:

Overall:

Video:

The Video here is top notch. A direct Rip and a damn good one at that. No macro-blocks in heavy action scenes and no drop in the frame rate. No freezes either. Unlike Season 2 the artist put their paints to the cells and created wonderful (yet slightly different versions) of our fav characters. Most notable of the changed characters is Ferio. But you will see that everyone got an upgrade.

Audio:

Ok this is something JJ will fix. Let it be known that there is an English Audio track and it comes in 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 Stereo. Voices in both Japanese and English are crisp and clear. You will enjoy this I promise. The Dub is good and the Japanese if great.

Subtitle:

Subtitles either they are great or they are a pain. These fall in to the really good. They are just a little late or slow at changing but it is few and far between when it happens. They do a great job of explain the story and filling out the characters expressions.

Comment:

Ok if you watched Season 1, Season 2, and still need your Rayearth fix then this is the place to come and get it. I will not ruin the story but be warned. They took a lot of liberties in making this. I personally am unhappy with the bad guys in this story. And the Mech Fighting acts more like Tanks shooting at each other than good old Fist of Cuffs Action. The extras may confuse people who have not seen the first 2 seasons be fore wanted. As a standard I will try to pitch the show in one sentence Dubbed the ?One shot? One Shot ? Rayearth OVA is a great piece to add to your MKR collection, but only after you have seen the first two seasons should you watch this.
