Overall:
Video:
Video is definitely average. Not much to say about it.
Audio:
Audio is average. Didn't have any fade ins or fade outs.
Subtitle:
The subtitling got worse. There are times where the subtitles will go fast then the 2nd part will show and you didnt even get a chance to read the first part or it will show the subtitle but the character hasn't even spoke yet. It is frustrating!!!!! You can get a general idea of what is going on, but in the 2nd part of Hana Yori Dango is when to me it gets you hooked. I find myself wanting to watch more, but yet the subtitles are making it frustrating. You have to really pay attention to them to try to understand. The timing is either off or it will include names to people you dont even hear the character referring to and you know the character is not even talking about it.
Comment:
All in all, I would have to say I love Hana Yori Dango. It is my soap opera of choice!! Really gets you hooked wanting to find out what happens with Tsukasa or Makino.

Video:
It looks like an old VHS rip. Due to the way it's animated (soft & unclear, somewhat more artistic than realistic), you can get used to the look of it pretty quickly. There are occasional lines through the frame (tracking lines?). Pixellation is pretty noticeable when there's scanning up or down or the movement is fast.
Audio:
Some eps are a little quieter than others, not much, but it's there.

Overall, very, very good. In this set, the episode with the weird subs was episode 46, where the timing got pretty bad, but they'd catch up after a few lines Very rare typos or timing issues. Names are all correct.
Comment:
The dancing stuff that you see on the covers and the images on the back of the box 2 set are all taken from the movie, none of that (except for the opening) is in the TV show. I wished that they had added the movie to the end of this, it's only 1/2 hour long. Also, I wish that the series were longer. They could've done a lot more of the storyline that was in the books. Overall, it won't disappoint, if you liked the first set.
