The video was ok I thought it was terrific. Not a lot of pixellation.

I loved the audio. I listened to the english and japanese audio. SO far the english dubb likes to say a lot of bad words.
Subtitle:
Subs were decent I did not notice any mistimings or grammatical errors.

Throughout most of the anime I didn't find any problems with it. However, fast action scenes WERE pixellated AND the last few minutes were terribly blocky. For me, that's a huge problem because the last part kinda wraps up everything and it was very touching. To have it distorted is a real dissappointment.
Audio:
Great soundtrack. Only listened to Japanese dialogue. No problem.
Subtitle:
Good subtitles. No complaints. No mistakes / errors that I recall.
Comment:
This is one of the best anime I've ever seen. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get hooked on anime. It's just a shame that the ending is messed up, else it would get a perfect score.

For the most part, this show is very crisp. There a few moments where the paper scenes get very slightly blocky.
Audio:
Great audio plus it has a 5.1 dd track.
Subtitle:
Great subs, nothing to complain about.
Comment:
This show is very good. There is a great plot plus a character that can control paper and use it in origami like ways is awesome. There is an extremely violent scene near the end for 5 seconds. I am just warning you. Their is blood and stuff but this one scene goes over the line of gore. Remember this is a manga film so some of their stuff can be a bit bloody. Besides for that scene. This movie was fantastic. The plot seemed to be focused on books and then villians but the story is well drawn out.

No problem here at all

Saw on laptop.. video was great.. nothing blurry, no skipping or pixelation. The animation was so crisp, I loved the drawings.

Didn't hear the japanese dub.. but the english dub sounded great. I thought the character's voices went well with the character.
Subtitle:
I had the subtitles turned on while watching english dub and I didn't notice a single grammar or spelling mistake.

This is a great ova to have. I haven't seen the TV series and the 3 episodes in this set made sense and the storyline is good. I like Paper's super power.. it was just something new to me. Seeing the characters fight and their powers were cool. I would recommend you go out and buy this one.

UGH!! Blurry as hell!!!! also in the last episode in its final moments it was choppy. In some scenes it looked great but for about 90% of it looked blurry and un-focused. Its really not that bad but since its a R1 rip and a ''remastered'' version for its sake it gets a very low rating, looks like a vcd
Audio:
Audio was great in both english and japanese tracks.
Subtitle:
Great during the whole episodes, not 1 missing line or typing errors. Why did I gave it a 4?? Cause in the special features the creators interview it wasn't subtitled. The guys talking japanese and not 1 line subtitled.
Comment:
The anime itself its great, cool characters and story, kinda james bond-ish jejejeje. The problem as I see it was that FX wanted to push ALL of the R1 features, thats not a good idea unless they use very expensive dvd-r discs which I doubt they will do that. My friend has the R1 release and the video is nothing compared to this one. When a dvd is stated as remastered it has to be almost as good as the R1, but this one not even close enough. This is the first time I have seen Fx do a low rip of a series. It not that bad cause its watchable don't get me wrong but being a R1 rip and say that its remastered and being this kinda quality its unforgiven. At least its $8 so instead of wating $25-$30 for it get this dvd. If you liked it alot then get the R1 release cause this anime is very good!

Video on this was good for the most part. A bit of motion blur here and there when the camera panned, didn't bother me too much. The only real problem was at the very end where things got a little jerky. By then, however, you're not missing much.
Audio:
Lots of little audio options. Even has DTS if you have a system to support it. By the way, I loved Lilianthal's dub voice. I just love over-the-top German accents, they make me laugh.
Subtitle:
Very large and yellow. All complete, looks good.
Comment:
Packaging: Regular black clamshell design, with lots of Japanese writing on the back. Extras: An interview with the filmmakers, biographies on the famous people cloned throughout the OVA, a photo gallery, and the trailer. Fun little series. The complete obsession with books Yomiko has is something I can relate to, so I thought it was pretty funny. The show reeks of that distinct Victorian-esque super hero show. Like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The odd thing is this supposedly takes place in the present day. Then why, I ask, does all the technology look all antiquated and such? In any event, I'd say it's worth 7 dollars. Reviewed on: Sylvania DVD Player, Generic DVD-ROM drive.

Well everyone else seems to believe this is a direct rip but im not convinced. I have never seen the R1 but I thought the video seemed unsharp and lines where slightly blurred. Its still great quality video but the softness let it down slightly... I then watched it on the PC for reasons i'll explain later and the video was even more unsharp. I noticed two instances of error type macroblocks (you know when they go green and purple) and dont even get me started on the end of the last episode! It was all choppy like the others have said so I can only guess its on every set.
Audio:
There is loads to choose from here and they are all correct and in working order. Im not really big on audio though so I cant tell you much!
Subtitle:
No missing lines or timing issues at all and they R1 ripped so you know what to expect.
Comment:
Well this is the first FX disc I have had real issues with. I first of all put the disc in to check it and it played fine but the next time I put it in to watch it it spun round for like 5 mins and then loaded (ater it wouldnt load a few times I just left it to spin and it EVENTUALLY loaded). The last episode give me huge problems with skipping and jumped like 30 seconds at a time so I had to watch it on the PC (although one drive wouldnt load it still!) and that showed up the unsharpness I mentioned before. As for the series itself I wasnt really a fan... Im glad I didnt buy the R1s as the story was weak. It didnt really explain what was happening and is really only good for watching the action. The high point is Yomiko Readman as her character is cute and sweet. The opening song is quite catchy and reminds me of Cowboy Bebop.

I looked closely at the video on my computor and it's really bad-the average bitrate is about 2.5 mbps?!? Needless to say it looks horrible. Edit-I finally got the R1 version and then checked the disc capacity-guess what? This one is bigger than the R1 is-even taking the dts sound track into account-and I'd really like to know where they got the dts track from-the R1 only has an ac3 5.1 track-the dts is better sounding than the ac3 5.1 is.
Audio:
The english 5.1 DTS track is the only way to go.
Subtitle:
I don't really look at subs cause I'm a dub man. But I did glance at them and they all looked ok to me.
Comment:
This is an awesome miniseries-not to be missed. I guarantee you'll never look at paper or liberians quite the same again-if you can live with the crappy video.

Video seems like a direct rip with no compression. The reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 (and this is somewhat important) is that the last 5 minutes of the last episode are buggy. The picture shakes and shows a double image of everything, not to mention becoming choppy. I found this disturbing because the end was kind of (in my opinion) an important resolution for a certain major character and this made it distracting.
Audio:
Japanese DTS 5.1 sounded GREAT. Also, awesome soundtrack.

Perfect.

Great DVD, except for the buggy video for the last 5 minutes. Some cool extras. The DVD artwork wasn't too impressive though.

Fantastic! 3 types of audio per language. (English/Japanese) It was awesome of my 5.1 surround. The dub is even cute.

I had no complaints on this at all. It was nice and legible script. Easy on the eyes. Grammar was very nice.

It's not a very long series...mini series I suppose. But it's very quirky. "GIVE ME MY BOOK" Totally worth the price. Would make an awesome present.

The video was excellent, appears to be a direct rip as it is on a DVD-9 but there I did remember there were a couple of video glitches, first during the paper airplane scene in the 1st ep (it only happens for a split second, I got a screenshot of it) and in the 3rd episode the video freezes for a split second then returns to normal. Also the video for the last 3 or 4 minutes of the DVD was very jerky, frames would blend one into another, really noticeable during scene changes. It was annoting but fortunately the scene where it happens didn't really have much movement and action in it. I tried both my standalone player (Panasonic) and my DVD-ROM (Sony) and the results were the same.

Beautiful video. My only problem was a slight blurring of detail on the characters faces due to the videos over-brightness. Be aware this is nit-picking on my part, but it is noticable.

No problems what so ever. As a matter of fact, the sound is even livelier on the english dub. A real bonus for those who haven't mastered reading yet.

I don't know what to say. A DVD from FX that is actually perfect. Nice extras, trailers, and pretty chapter menus. The real winner here is just how good this anime is. Cool characters (and developement), slick villians, a hot story, + a phat soundtrack= one of the best DVDs i've purchased in awhile. Buy this now!!!!
