Video:
The video holds up quite well on all episodes on all discs. As is typical with HK releases, there is a bit of aliasing going on during extraordinarily active moments. Think, Tomo's hyperswimming scene... or those killer Yukari driving scenes. No! This isn't a major issue... in fact, you would be quite happy with this set, as I am.
Audio:
The soundtrack of Azumanga Diaoh is one of the most lively, ecclectic mixes I've ever heard in my life. It really compliments the look and feel of the show... and the sudden, jarring use of sound effects hasn't distorted or overmodulated on me once. Then again, I watched this show at room level on a regular television screen... I don't own a 16-screen cinema with digital sound certificates.
Subtitle:
Pretty lousy. Generally they stay around for a good amount of time, but at times, some words are just translated poorly. Never was a fan of the nasty yellow subtitle either, but you get what you get when you watch HK and not common fansubs.
Comment:
It's a great show, a great set, a marvelous deal! The video's fine, the audio is durable and varied, and the subtitles don't hurt the show... they're just ugly and slightly inaccurate. If you're used to the HK DVDs and aren't upset by the girls occasionally calling other girls "Him" and "He", then you'll see no problem with the subtitles and easily look past them... unless you don't know Japanese, in which case it won't hurt you while you're looking AT them.

Video was pretty good. Compared to the recent US releases, it is very impressive. I find no problems with video quality in this set. Near perfect.
Audio:
Since there's only one sound track, it seems clealy fine. Mo problems here either.
Subtitle:
Subtitles are the downfall of this set, not emaning they are horrible or anything. Subtitles are quite impressive for HK dvds. Only problem is the Sakaki's name is translated as Sasaki. Very few grammer and timing issues. Nothing that would make this set enjoyable.
Comment:
I love this series! I love this set. Nothing wrong with it other than the intro and ending only being played once throughout a dvd. Menu is simple and nice. Very hilarious series. Definetly recommend this set.

Video:
very clear for VCD rips or maybe TV rips, definately not DVD rips
Audio:
clear with no hissing etc but on disc two its a lower recording than the others but still clear
Subtitle:
This is where it falls short when you want to be picky! overall everything is subbed pretty good with only a couple of lines missing! but a lot is lost on the jokes from "osaka" (when she starts a topic for no reason and fails to end it or something stupid like that) which depend on word play
Comment:
i reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy enjoyed this series the episodes are composed of tiny shorts that are based on the manga which i went out and bought after watchin the seriees (vol1 by tokyo pop) coz this series was that good! definately one you can watch again and again! the pace gets a little too fast near the end though for my liking (because i just wanted the thjing to carry on) highly recommended to cheer you up when youre feeling blue!

Not perfect; the quality was alright, but I noticed - if you look real close you can see a faint bar running through it.
Audio:
Great audio, no complaints here.
Subtitle:
Here I must put my foot down a bit. If you read my review of Juuni Kokki, then you may apply it here as well. There are some "word games" played throughout the show periodically - needless to say it comes off as just jibberish in HK subtitles. This is a bit of a loss because it takes some of the humor out of it. The overall flow of the show is not affected, nor are the subtitles bad, but losing some of the humor due to it affects my score.
Comment:
An overall thumbs-up, but I had to rate according to my standards. I like a comedy NOT to lose some of it's jokes due to translation.

Video:
Very good video quality. In the 3rd disc some episodes look like vcd rips or Tv rips, still they are good!!. I had some problems with my set every disc had an episode were it was running just fine but for some reason it stopped and I had to press forward to conclude the rest of the scene, it wasnt a disc error it looked like it was recorded that way. I have no complaints everything else was good just for that video clipping problem.
Audio:
Clean, crisp audio even on the 3rd disc's vcd quality episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Subtitle:
Some lines were incorrectly said ( he instead of she, etc ) but no biggie. Also the mayority of titles that appear in the screen like names, etc, are rarely subtitled but dont affect the series at all. They are yellow subtitles. Good subtitles perfectly understandable all the way!!!!!!!!!!
Comment:
This series is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!. Very funny as well!!!. The characters have their own unique personality that makes the show unforgetable!!. The School Male Teacher is sooooooo funny, just by looking at the guy makes me laugh!!. You will love him by the first sight, one of the students ask him why did he became a teacher the guy screamed '' I LOVE SCHOOL GIRLS'', the guys started crying by his sincerety, man that was a hooot!!!. Hes my favorite character is the whole series!! Chiyo, the little girl with the pony tails is cute!!! SOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!. My most memorable scene was when she dressed as a penguin that was 150% cute!!. Shes actually a genious student who was passed from middle school to high school and the others look up to her for help. This is a series every comedy fan should have, NO ONE SHOULD MISS IT!!. This dvd set is great and well worth the money I paid for it, good subtitles and video, why wait!?!?!. Get this set you won't regret it!!!!!!

Video:
Overall, great video quality. However, pixellation and aliasing are present throughout the series and are very noticeable. Also, the last few episodes seem to be TV rips. The transition to TV rips is noticeable, but the video quality continues to be great and watchable.
Audio:
The audio was very clear. But at some points during various episodes, the volume would either get louder or softer. This is annoying when it happens, but it only occurs for brief instances.
Subtitle:
The subtitles were very well done. They are very understandable and well timed and there was minimal grammar or spelling errors present.
