Reviews for Hikaru No Go Part 3

Overall:

Video:

Decent TV rip. The DVD-RAM logo shows up from time to time. There is some pixelation, and you can see some light vertical shadows sometimes. One episode was worse and had some phantom pictures, but all in all the quality was OK.

Audio:

Nothing to complain about. Probably it isn't as good as DVD-ripped sound, but with my cheap equipment (and dumb ears) I didn't notice any problems.

Subtitle:

Very understandable HK originals. Names are right or very close (like Fuku = Fukui). There are some minor grammar mistakes like the occasional mixup of I/you/he/she and some wrong verb forms or tenses. And I doubt that they said "F*ck off" in the original audio. But the subs were totally understandable and I never had any confusion about what was being said.

Comment:

Judging from the absence of MI logos and the subtitle font, I would say that this is a rip of the AV release. OK, it's an anime without any action and supernatural events (except Sai, of course). And it's about playing Go, a game which most of us won't fully comprehend. But still this is one of my favorite series. I was captured from the first episode on and couldn't wait to see how it went on. Luckily my friend ordered the last parts of this show now, so I could continue watching it (he will get his discs once I have finished, he he). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Equipment used: Sony DVD-NS300 PAL codefree player; cheap Grundig 27" PAL stereo TV
