Countryboy Hideki moves to Tokyo to start college. Many of city dwellers own Persocons, robots that look like humans, that act mainly as helpers. One day, cash-strapped Hideki is lucky enough to find a Persocon that someone has thrown in the trash. He names her "Chi". Hijinks follow as Hideki lives his normal life, while trying to teach Chi what it means to be human. <br />
