Well, everything was somehow pleasant, but I hated in when in the final episode that was so important, a timing-error of the subtitles occured and stayed until the end. It was really annoying, believe me! The whole atmosphere was totally gone by then. That's sad cause I really liked Audio and Video and the time-errors in other episodes disappeared after a few lines...

Video:
Strangely inconsistent. On the first disc you have nice, crisp DVD rip with 16:9 widescreen. Only thing is, that the infamous translucent green bars show up. The second disc also starts with 16:9 DVD rip, but it's noticeably more unsharp than on disc one. From episode 13 or 14 it switches to 4:3 TV rip. The TV rip itself is ok, slightly unsharp, some distorted lines now and then, some color bleeding, but no serious problems. On the last disc we're back to excellent sharp and crisp DVD rip. Didn't notice the green bars here.
Audio:
Good audio. Maybe a little background noise for the TV ripped part.

Basically these seem to be good fansubs. But there are tons of typing errors and some lines missing and also some strange wording now and then. They seem to get slightly better towards the end (concerning the number of typos). On the last two episodes on disc 3 HK originals are used. But since those episodes are recaps (ep 25 is in fact ep 9 "Shinbo and Sumomo talk" and ep 26 is in fact ep 27 "Hibiya and Kotoko talk") it really doesn't matter.
Comment:
ATTENTION: This set is missing the episode "Chii disappears" (#20 in the official episode count). This missing episode is NOT one of the recap episodes. Those are both here, although the episode "Shinbo and Sumomo talk" is presented as #25 instead of #9, where it should be. You still have 26 episodes, because there is a final episode "Hibiya and Kotoko talk", not mentioned in the episode guides I found on the net. This episode is just a 3rd recap episode with some (very few) hints at what happens afterwards. This is a rip of a MI set, but there seem to be different MI sets out there. One person told me, that his MI set also was missing the "Chii disappears" episode, another one told me that it was included in his set as the first episode on disc 3. So watch out which MI set you'll get. The series itself is very nice, very good artwork. I liked it better than the manga. If you like the "romantic android" genre, you will like this one too. I didn't have a real problem to follow the story, but I really can't recommend a set with a whole episode missing.

Ho Ho Father Christmas here, its been a long week and now that my little elves are all gone for the summer, and Mrs Christmas has sadly left me for another man....the Easter Bunny!!..sob sob. However, its left me time to review Chobits for you all ho ho...Anyway Video is really good, its ripped from the Japanese DVDs
Audio:
Ho Ho sounded japanese to me
Subtitle:
Ho Ho Subtitles were a mix bag, while l didn't need to use my new fangle engrisch decoded, l was left underwhelmed by them. For the most part fansubs were used, however, there's some awkward sentenaces, spelling mistakes aplenty and unsubbed lines which was annoying. Plus signs weren't subbed too. Its perfectly understandable though, and me and Ruldoph sat thru it all with a warm cup milk
Comment:
Ho Ho Chobits is a nice series, it tends to drag on, with every episode with mainly Chi learning something and looking cute, but it does have more to it than that, and its CLAMP as well, so its got my seal of approval in terms of character design and beautiful visuals.
