Perfect R1 rip.
Audio:
Nothing to complain on my simple stereo TV. I only listened to the Japanese audio, so I can't comment on the English dub.
Subtitle:
R1 rip. But approximately half of the lines are missing. Believe me. It's not some lines now and then. Must be the title with the most missing lines, I've seen so far. I really can't understand the high ratings some of the other reviewers gave to the subs. I watched this with Japanese audio and the subs on, and you can follow the story, making up the missing parts of the conversation yourself. But of course you'll lose lots of detail, especially when the the topics get more complicated with all this genetic engineering and time travelling.
Comment:
I never would have bought this myself, with a title like "Generator Gawl". But when I borrowed this from a friend, I was pleasantly surprised. It's an entertaining series. But I can only recommend this set, if you understand Japanese or plan to watch it with English dub. I heard there's a new R1 ripped MI version out, so you should probably get that set instead. EDIT: Someone reported that the MI set also has missing subs, so it's probably a rip of this version.

I'm seen at the most only a hair of glitching or whatever.
Audio:
No real problems here. Well, one time the sound did stop playing, & I had to hit pause then play, but I think that was probably more of my DVD Player's fault.
Subtitle:
I can only give it a four because I only turn them on everynow & then, but when ever they're on they're good. *edit* I've finally went back & watched the series entirely in Japanese with subs, the subs were pretty much perfect, only a few things like screams were not subbed, I don't know what is wrong with the above review's copy, as my sub were excelent. If you can stand to, watch the series with subs rather than the dub; it's like a totally different show.
Comment:
I have one MAJOR problem with this show. THE DUB! It's weird, sometimes the way they act doesn't match with what they say, & when you turn on the subs you find out why. It's nothing alike. The subs are serious stuff, while listening to the dub makes it seem so up beat with jokes here & there. One example I can remember is when the boys are arrested. In the Dub the police man says "And Gawl, you're to be exicuted at dawn. *he laughs* I'm just kidding." And in the subs he says "Gawl, you're really lucky to have such close brothers." Or something like that. Also sometimes the Subs will display a yell "AHHHHHH" And he doesn't yell, while it also happens the other way around, they'll add in a yell, or words when he's either just charging into battle, or supposed to be yelling. Now I started watching this at the same time I was watching Kenshin, & it didn't really appeal to me, I finished up the first disc then just put it away. Finally I got it back out, & I'm not sure if it's just that the second disc is way more cooler, or the fact that I'm not comparing it another series. Ok scaratch that it's just good, I mean with the slight twist, & junk that you probably won't see coming, it's got to be the best title I've ever seen which includes time travel. I plan on re-watching it subed, then I'll probably update this review to tell if I found any real problems. Chances are I'll probably feel like it's a totally different show when subbed.

Can't comment as watched the surprisingly good dub.
Comment:
Very good series. I was surpised. It's better version of a Guyver style storyline and less violent/gory. Ending was okay and reminded me a lot of Dual, but it's a lot better than that series anyway.

crisp and clear for the most part, including intensive combat scenes. However in first few episodes (this title comes with 2 disks. I don't recall seeing pixalation in the 2nd disk at all), visible pixalation is found in dark scenes. Combat scenes are really fluid ;-)
Audio:
stereo. I think this is a R1 ripped. It comes with a stereo Japanese and stereo English. The English dubbed is decent and enjoyable to watch in.
Subtitle:
Blah. This title only comes with English sub and only *part* of the conversation is subbed. So, I could only watch in English dubbed to understand what's goin. (you need to because the plot involves a bit of the molecular genetic engineering and a bit of human-play-good philosophy)
Comment:
I would definitely recommend this title. Like in animenfo review http://www.animenfo.com/animereview.php?id=178&n=skweru&t=generator_gawl, It's impressive for the plot and a decent ending be fitted in a 12 episodes series ;-) This title is capable to keep you guessing for the ending til the very last episode ;-)
