Overall:
Video:
I'm not completely sure if this disc was ripped from the japanese LD or R2 dvd but the image quality is above average. The film is presented in 1.85:1 non-anamorphic widescreen with no noticable flaws so there shouldn't be any problems.
Audio:
Three choices here and they are: original Japanese stereo 5.1 DTS Japanese 5.1 Dolby Surround Japanese I personally favor the DTS the other two for being the loudest and the clearest of the three.
Subtitle:
The best part about these subtitles is that they retain the original names for the characters unlike Vega being Bison and all that other crap from the U.S release. The only shame though is that the subs do run off the screen a bit sometimes but that shouldn't take away from the experience. NOTE: On the menu ther are three subtitle tracks available though only the Chinese and Spanish can be turned on and off. English, on the other hand, is forced and run throughout the duration of the film. Our friends south of the border (of California) may find it hard to read sometimes.
Comment:
Special features include a 45 minute documentary entitled "The History of Street Fighter" which shows the evolution of the game from the first all the way to the final incarnation of the Street Fighter II. Sadly no subs are provided. Lastly there are a couple of trailers, one featuring ommitted scenes from Ryu's opening duel with Sagat, the other a music video style montage. Overall this is a great disc and should be gobbled up before it's too late. Comes in a clear amaray case with a nice reversible cover.
