Reviews for Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventures TV
Video:

Video:

The video seems fine to me. Keep in mind that this is an older show so it may not look up to date, but for its age it is as good as it can get.

Audio:

I only watched the Japanese track but nothing was wrong with it. I can imagine that the English track is the same.

Subtitle:

Perfect. Probably an R1 rip.

Comment:

MAC did a very good job with this DVD but I didn't really care for the show itself. If you are in to giant robots with a little bit of comedy than I suggest you see this. I think comparing it to Evangelion is unfair because I don't really see it to be that similar, unless you count that robots. Overall a good set.

The video is amazingly clear, even for collaborating four dvds onto two. There are 14 episodes in total, 7 on each disc. For some reason, pixelation is a lot more noticable on the second disc than the first. Even still, the pixelation is hardly noticable and not very annoying. Colors and clear and bright and the animation is very nice. An A+ viewing experience!

Audio:

Both Japanese and English tracks and crystal clear. I listened to only the Japanese track (along with English subs). For the small time that I listened to the English track, it wasn't that bad sounding.. it's tolerable, which is more than I can say for most English dubs. =) Either way, awesome audio.

Subtitle:

The subs are great for the most part, but during some moments, the subs are either impossible to see or they don't show up for some of the phrases. The subs are white with black lining. Rarely, they'll show up in black and that's when the subs are hard to see. However, the rest of the time, they are fine, grammatically sound and easy to read. As a sidenote, during the ending of the final episode, they song is subbed twice: white Romanized Japanese subs on top and green English translation subs on the bottom.

Comment:

Sidenotes: * The menu is broken down into 4 different sections: - Play Vision (play all) - Corrective Vision (dubs and subs options) - Vol. 1 or 3 Access Visoons (scene selection) - Vol. 2 or 4 Access Visoons (scene selection) Note that "Visions" is misspelled as "Visoons". No biggy, just happened to notice it. Also, there are no extras (at least, no visible extra options). * On this MAC set, there is a small tracklist of all the episodes and their titles. There is an error: Episode 8 and 11 are both entitled "Mitsuki" while only 8 is the correct one. Episode 11 should be entitled "Real" * Dual! Parallel is a 14 episode series: 13 regular episodes and a "special" 14th episode. Personally, I think the 14th episode, although it ties into the series, presents no real storyline and is more of a sidestory of what happens after the war is over. Anyways, Dual! Parallel is about a young boy named Kazuki who sees events of a parallel world happening in his own. Only he can see them, so he writes about them on the Internet. A young girl named Mitsuki hears about these "visions" and takes interest in it, along with her father. They investigate this parallel world and how it ties into their own world but once they fall into this world, they get into deeper trouble than they ever could've possibly expected. Now it's up to them to make sure that the events of this parallel world help bring peace to both worlds or they are both doomed. Dual! has a good storyline.. which at times may be hard to follow, but it's a great anime nonetheless. It has it's share of drama, comedy and mecha action, so I think many will be pleased.

Great quality. Very clear, just like when I watched it on Tech TV.

Audio:

Audio was perfect on the TV. Didn't test on my PC with surround, so can't rate it there. Once again, great English voice actors.

Subtitle:

Subs where nice. Only tested one episode, but no problems were found.

Comment:

Great series. The story pulls you in quick. It's a short series, so you don't feel as drained as with Evengelion. Also has a better ending than Evangelion. Great watch for anyone who likes robots, chicks fighting over one guy, the nerd becoming the hero, or just want an ending worth watching.

This series for some reason only played a few of the episodes error free on my X-Box but was completely error free on my sony DVD player not sure why this happened but from my DVD player wonderfully done series alittle rough on some of the art work but still done good

Audio:

no errors to be found on this part of the series

Subtitle:

didn't have any problems with this part

Comment:

The big robots do remind me of Evangelon, the story is pretty good. I got a kick out of how four women fall in love with the main character but he gets pulled back and forth in different ways by all four.

R1 rip, some minor pixellation, but very good , for the most part.

Audio:

Ri rip again, I only listened to the english dub which was very well done. Sound level was perfect, no humming or distortion.

Subtitle:

As said elsewhere, about as good as it gets. Seeing as this was an ADV release whom are known for good subs-what did you expect?

Comment:

This reminded me of Tenchi Muyo so much, gee-could it be because most of the same people involved in Tenchi also worked on this? Anyway, I really enjoyed it a lot, at times it does get a little serious, but mostly it's really funny. The characters are well developed and the episodes are well written. At 13 episodes it won't take forever to watch, unlike a lot of series today. Enjoy!!

The video quality was very good.......

Great

Subtitle:

I only watched a few of the subtitles for both english and japanese and both seemed ok.

Comment:

I always find it hard to give any anime a perfect score with but this comes close "when Tenchi met Evangalion" is a perfect secondary title for this wonder display of anime greatness.....this one can be enjoyed by all.

Video may be a R1 rip; Crisp and sharp. I saw minor pixilation on some CG scenes and minor artifacting here and there. But these are limited and happen rarely.

Audio:

Found no problem with the audio. Perfect R1 rip.

Subtitle:

Only watched the dubbed version.

Comment:

Great story, but what do you expect from the makers of Tenchi? I will admit the story got a little confusing at times. My dvd player in my bed room had trouble reading the 2nd layer on the first disc but played perfectly on my PS2 and living room dvd player. I have had good luck withe MAC dvd and for the price, it's a steal.

Very good R1 rip. Some slight pixelation (you'll notice it in the CG scenes and in the ending), but no big deal.

Audio:

Nothing to complain about on my simple stereo TV.

Subtitle:

Almost perfect R1 rip. There are some very few lines missing and the subs that translate onscreen text are transparent with black outline (but I could read them all).

Comment:

Very nice. Kind of Tenchi meets Evangelion. I liked it. A nearly perfect rip of an entertaining series. Recommended!

R1 ripped. Clear and sharp. Only minor pixelation in CG scenes (which is no big deal because it's not a battle scene ;-))

Audio:

Only have listened to Jap. Good.

Subtitle:

Good. I can understand and enjoy the series in Jap track.

Comment:

I really enjoyed watchin this series despite having read its so-so review from various anime review sites. I can totally see it has a strong affinity to EVA but I simply like its good balance of humor, action, and romance. (1 otoko to many shojo relationship is maintained in an affable atmosphere ;->). Personally I enjoy it way more than Love Hina. PS One of the show down mech "Zinv" looks alot like (transformed) Gawl of "Generator Gawl" ;-)

Perfect rip, what can I say. My player did have problems reading the second layer, but I re-inserted a few times and it played okay 9like many HKs). The story is average and aimed at teens, but it was fun.

Very nice, as mentioned. Not *perfect* though. Hard to explain, but it's a slight compression deal, I suspect (though it could be from the r1s, originally)

Audio:

Nice. I hate to give a 5, though, without a better setup to be sure it deserves that.

Subtitle:

Great. Not actually missing subs, that I've seen, but slightly mistimed, where it will display everthing and then turbosub something between two lines. One person will start a sentence, it will be subbed, the same sub will continue throughout the second half of their sentence. Once they start the next sentence, the second half of the sub will apear for a nanosecond, replaced by the current sentence's subtitle.

Comment:

Nice set, highly reccomended. It's a little bit EVA, a little bit Tenchi, a smidge of Tenchi, and a bit of originality.

This is a very good rip of the Region 1's. As expected from a MAC original rip, there is no pixelation and a very sharp and clear image

Audio:

The Sound was very clear and sharp. nice with no problems. (heard from a home theatre set up) - Japanese only

Subtitle:

The subtitles are riped from the region 1 dvds, same font and size. No misspellings but there are occasional lines missing. Its about 1-2 lines of text missing per episode. Very nice job

Comment:

My review (as always) is based on watching the whole set. This was an amazing rip and if you enjoy mecha vs tenchi anime, this is a very good buy
