Video:
The video quality was pretty good the only pixelation I recall was from the launch sequences but those are easy to skip considering their so repetitive which makes them quite pointless to watch. Other than that everything seemed alright.
Audio:
The audio was loud and clear as usual can?t really complain about this at all.
Subtitle:
The subtitles appeared to be fine didn?t notice any problems.
Comment:
I went into this anime with about average expectations and at times got what I expected but at the same time I was disappointed. Oh well my advice is to only get this if you can?t find anything better to watch.

The video is not bad but it has really noticible pixalation in some parts of the first disc (mostly the launch sequence). This is because of the cad episode distribution 9-4 and each disc has extras so that makes it worst.
Audio:
The audio was great, 2 tracks one japanese and one english, both of the tracks were 2.0ch but they were done very well, always sincronized with everything.
Subtitle:
The translation of the subs was good BUT, a lot of the times some subs were a little late and for the biggest problem, when there was a text on the scrren explaining the location or year or something in japanese they used pure black subs with nothing around it, most of the show is in space so you cant see the subs and its REALLY annoying. Standard subs - yellow with black around it.
Comment:
Both discs had extras, Disc1 had clear opening and ending plus a 5 minutes scene from Outlaw Star when they get cought by characters from Angel Links, Disc2 its has the Launch sequence for the spaceship and an explanation of the ship. Every eps. has 4 chapter break (op,artA,partB,end). This is a good series, if you like Outlaw Star you'll enjoy this and it gets really addictive at the end. Highly Recomended.

This can be clearly identified as a DVD rip. Problems arise mainly because disc one contains nine episodes while disc two contains only four. There is macro blocking, cross coloration, and pixelation that is noticeable from the opening sequence and remaining highly visible during the high action scenes throughout the first disc. It is not as evident on most of the slower scenes. This is probably due primarily to cramming nine episodes on one disc. These flaws are not as prevalent on disc two, which only contains four episodes, but are still noticeable at times. Otherwise, the artwork and the colors are bright and vibrant. Most of the artwork is in the same style as Outlaw Star.
Audio:
The only audio options are Japanese and English. Therefore, it is likely that it is only two channel stereo sound, although there is no way to confirm this from the menus or any info present on the gatefold. There are no problems with either the Japanese or English dialogue, although I listened to the majority of it in English. The dubs are very respectable: nothing great, but not shabby either. There were no problems with the sound effects either. The opening and closing themes to the series are not bad and are actually kind of catchy. However, the soundtrack is somewhat repetitive, with the majority of the music in the show being the same song over and over again.
Subtitle:
The options for subs are either on or off. There is no separate sub option for only on screen text. The subs are presented in an easy to read yellow and are of perfect R1 quality. However, the on screen Japanese text, which is subbed in black, is primarily illegible as a majority of this show is set in equally black space. This does not pose too much of a problem until episode six, where a lot of text is used to fill in gaps in the storyline. The opening and closing songs are subbed as well alternating from Japanese to English approximately every other episode.
Comment:
All in all, I found it to be an entertaining series. It is nothing groundbreaking or essential, but still a good way to spend about 5 hours of your day. I went into it with very low expectations, expecting it to be tough to get through the entire series. However, it exceeded my prospects and after beginning the series, I was motivated to see how it turned out. Meifon is one of the bustiest 16 year olds you will ever see, which also didn?t hurt the series any. I?d recommend it to anyone looking for something light and action-packed, without taking itself too seriously. My only complaint about Angel Links would be that it does not have much to do with Outlaw Star at all, outside of taking place in the same universe.

Nice R1 rip, with slight pixelation problem but not very often. I don't know why they put 9 episodes on disc 1 and 4 on disc 2.
Audio:
Perfect, that's it.
Subtitle:
Every subtitle line was there that was in the R1, however the Songs where subtitled in Black so they are hard to read as well as the Title of the episodes.
Comment:
I thought it was a rather enjoyable series, nothing to start a cult following over, but really nicely done. Its set in the Outlaw Star universe but only uses 2 characters that were in one episode of Outlaw Star.

Yes, it's an R1 rip, but it's not perfect. There is pixilation, and it's in every episode, but it's not even all that obvious, or distracting at that. If FX releases bother you, then you're not only being anal about the video quality, but your expectations are unrealistically high as to what the video "should" look like. As for me, the video was fine, and I dinged the .5 for the pixilation.
Audio:
I didn't hear anything wrong, but I didn't listen to the English dub either.
Subtitle:
Great. Yellow font for almost all of it, nothing misspelled, almost no mistimes. They main problem is how the subs for the titles of the episodes and on screen translations are black, making some things literally impossible to read, but this isn't enough to take down the score anymore than .5.
Comment:
Not great, but not bad. There seemed to be a great deal of filler on disc 1. Maybe the only better than average episode on that disc was disc 5. Also, there are another 2 character from Outlaw Star who "appear" in Angel Links: Fred Lo (spelling?) and that waitress from that bar that Gene hung out in. It was worth the $22 I spent, but I'd find it hard to justify the purchase of the R1's. 3/5

Video: R1 rip Audio: R1 rip, has the English and Japanese audio, I think the English track was louder than the Japanese track or it was the other way around but really didn't matter. The dub wasn't horrible but not great either and the english dub was slightly different from the subs but the story is the same the dub actors just added some more emotion i guess is what you call it Subs: R1 rip, these are direct rips yellow font, one problem was some episode titles and some names were subbed in black, it was hard to make out but this was only at the very begining of episodes for the titles and only two other episodes in between the main story but this didn't effect watching it at all. Extras: disc 1 (there where 9 episodes on disc 1)had opening and ending originals and part of the Outlaw star episode where 2 characters where carried over into this series disc 2 (there were 4 episodes on disc 2)had the angel links ship launching daylight and night time and a short explaination of the ships that angel links uses. Case: nice gatefold with episode list on the inside cover and various pics inside and on the back cover. only thing i didn't like was the plastic slip over cover is a bit more solid (opaque) i would prefer it to be more clear (transperent) Content: Ok they say this is a spin off of Outlaw Star but let me set this straight, there are only two carry over characters if you watched Outlaw star if you remember the angel links (they where like a space police force). the character Duuz the dinosaur looking guy and the girl with blonde hair Valarie i think. thats the only Outlaw star reference. If you don't remember they included that part of the Outlaw star episode on the 1st dvd in the Extras. really this series stands on it's own the lead character has big boobs which i found wasn't needed, they play on this in a episode or two but things get more serious later. the first 4 episodes just kinda jump right in but on episode 5 i think was where the real story started, they should have made episode 5 episode 1 in my opinion it just seemed like the first few episodes where filler episodes before the real story got started. it's hard to explain the story here angel links is supposed to be a agency that protects ships in outerspace for free against pirates but after the first 4 episodes the story kinda changes and there are some good plot twists i dont want to give anything away though. I found this a good stand alone anime for only 13 episodes just dont expect another Outlaw star. I enjoyed it but i dont know if it is for everyone. also this is basically a perfect R1 from FX so you won't be disapointed in my opinion.
