Video:

Great quality video the R1 box set was also 4 disc. The animation quality of the series it self is really good too.

Audio:

There was a slight audio delay on some of the later episodes on disc 1 episodes 5,6 and maybe 7 no other quality worries to be had any other time though. Not a big deal. The English dub starts out a little rough acting wise but after a few episodes it gets better.

Subtitle:

A lot of dropped lines in the English subs. If you are a sub nut you best get the R1s, the R1s are a good price since it's also a 4 disc set like I said before.

Notes* *This collection is a R1 rip. *I watched this series on a COBY brand DVD player (DVD-224 model) with AV cable on a 25 inch RCA TV. *I had some bad skipping on a few episodes of discs 2 and 3, I got replacements from the place I bought this set from and they worked fine. The series it self: Blue Seed is kinda like Inuyasha and Blue Gender mixed to together, I'm pretty sure it was made before both said series though. It's good but not great in all areas. Character and story etc.

Video:

Video was definitely of good quality. It was a satisfactory R1 rip, because it had those nifty colors. All in all Grade A Rip.

Audio:

I didn't catch any out of the ordinary sounds like static or what not. Cool thing is it has a trilingual option of Japanese, English, or Spanish. Haven't a clue if the Spanish is any good, because I know about two words in Spanish, and I can't type them here, but hey it's there.

Subtitle:

You're better off just watching it dubbed. The subtitles kind of, no they just sucked, and it wouldn't be worth your time trying to decipher the text. The dubbing was actually pretty good. The voice acting was good, though the main girl character tends to be rather...how can I put it...whiny and oh yeah loud...

Comment:

The series is about, yes you guessed it..Blue Seeds!! Well that's not actually the main point of the series, but a quality summary would just include that it's the usual new monster encounter each episode marked with a subtle ahem ahem morale lesson at the end of the series. The series also includes a display of sometimes rather graphic death scenes, so there's an add in for all you blood and gore nuts out there. Series included good character development and provided a definite broad spectrum of different personality traits for each character and leads to how the characters interact with each other. A good series to watch, so check it out. Also, the DVD cover art is a little mixed up. The first DVD is fine, the 2nd one is actually the 4th disk, the 3rd is the 2nd disk, and the 4th disk is the 3rd disk. It kind of annoyed me that they weren't perfect, but if you can get over that fact then ok. If not, way to go anal retentive person. Yay..

Video:

The video was good, it's a good enough R1 rip. Could be a little better tough, seems a little "washed out". This anime is also a few years old...

Audio:

Sounded Good to me...the Japanese and English Audio Tracks. Also has a Spanish Audio track.

Subtitle:

Wel...they are R1 rips ...so why do i give it just 2.5/5 ? simple...unfortunatelly a lot of the Subs are absent :( ...and to make things worse ...some of them appear "transparent" with just the Black borders ! They really screw it up unfortunatelly...to really understand everything you 'll have to watch it with the English Dub ... It would be a 5/5 if they didn't screw it up ...so it gets a 2.5/5 and i am being generous.

It's a R1 rip, the menus are in english also. Contais some extras, like Caracther Bios and a small Comedy spot about the series . My version came with the DVD Art mixed up... the 2nd DVD contained the art for the 4 DVD, the 3rd DVD the art for the 4th...pretty annoying. Buy it if you don't mind watching it Dubbed.
