I'm not sure if the lacking video quality is due to the transfer or the source... I'm guessing the source, as I don't know how the problems I see can be caused by the transfer. The image is rather dark and dull, and there is a lot of "ghosting" going on, where movements leave almost a semi-frame behind them, giving a weird shadowing effect. Nothing you can't ignore, and doesn't really detract all that much from a fun viewing experience.
Audio:
Again.. I don't have the source to reference... but nothing spectacular here. Both the english and japanese tracks sound good, though the volume is somewhat lower on the japanese track. Sound effects and music are clear, but nothing above average.
Subtitle:
Real subtitles, no dubtitles. The subs have a nice font, and are in bright white... very easy to read, with good timing, grammar and spelling. No complaints here at all.
Comment:
GSC: Bulletproof is a fun way to spend an hour and a half. The character designs are cute, but go surprisingly well with the noir cop story atmosphere the show creates. I -really- enjoyed the gunplay during some of the more large-scale shoot-outs, and wasn't bored during any moment of GSC. Recommended if you're looking for a 1-dvd title to round out an order.

Looks good generally but the dark scenes lack contrast -- can be rectified by increasing the brightness of your television by a few notches.
Audio:
Listened to both the dub and sub and they sounded OK to me. The Dub version was actually quite well done with enthusiastic voice actors, for once. Sound quality is more stereo than 5.1 but you at least get to hear everything perfectly, even to the sound of the car engines roaring during the car chases -- very important to car enthusiasts like me ^_^.
Subtitle:
From comparing the dub to the sub version, I think there were a few differences -- not sure if the subtitles were deliberately missing or is it just a different approach. Anyway, what ever that was different or missing is not really critical -- the story is quite easy to follow since this is an action type of anime and not a philosophical one.
Comment:
Really enjoyed this anime and it is very American, if not for the character designs. Even the music has a Blues feel to it. If you like your anime to be action packed with some comedy and lots of exciting car chases, then jump right into the Shelby and take a WILD ride with Rally & Minnie May!!!

Good video. A little bit dark sometimes. And when the camera pans from left to right or vice versa, sometimes I noticed some jerky movement, as if the picture halts for a split second and then suddenly moves too fast for a split second.
Audio:
Noticeable hum (as in many of older AS releases). Only listened to the Japanese audio.
Subtitle:
R1 ripped, but a lot of lines missing, especially in the first episode. I would guess about 20 lines in the first, 10 lines in the later episodes. However, I didn't find it as irritating as you could expect from the numbers, because I could easyly figure out what was said. Others might rate it lower, but I really could watch it smoothly.
Comment:
Really nice series. Has this classic 70s American crime film feeling. (And they even had a guy driving and recording the Cobra engine sound). If there was more of it, I would watch it. Recommended, if you're okay with some missing subs.

Video:
Video on the whole appears to be pretty much a straight rip of the R1. Due to the clean animation and art, everything is nice to look at and isn't a strain on the eyes. Techincal problems are near non-existent, expect for some dark scences being ever so slightly darker than their R1 counterpart. Minor niggles aside, this is pretty good looking video.
Audio:
No problems with the audio. The dub track produced by ADV is here and everything sounds superb. Dolby Digital is supported, although i'm unsure as to whether it's 2.0/5.1 for the Japanese/English tracks. Sorry guys, I should really upgrade my sound system =o).
Subtitle:
Hmmm, considering that this is an apparent R1 rip, you would think that the subtitles are of the same (not similar) standard. Unfortunately, whilst the subs are by no means inaccurate, there's a whole lot of them missed out. This ain't how you rip a subtitle track from an R1 release folks. Is this a trend with early MAC releases?
Comment:
Gunsmith Cats: Bulletproof is a quirky little anime that surprised me with it's cute triple play of humour, girls 'n' guns and a riveting storyline. This MAC R1 rip, whilst by no means perfect due to the subtitle issues mentioned previously, is still a worthwhile purchase. Recommended.
