Reviews for Cyber Formula OVA Collection
Video:
Audio:
Subtitles:

Overall:

Video:

The video quality of all the OVA's are pretty good actually, granted that some of these came out from the early to mid nineties.

Audio:

The audio was fine to me. Not 5.1 dts sound and all but good enough.

Subtitle:

The subtitles are fairly decent, except for the first disk (Double One)in which the names of the characters are really weird and not even close to the actual japanese names....and yes, there are english subtitles for all OVA's.

Comment:

Best sports anime out there to me...shows drama, action, and a lot of character development in the entire t.v series all the way to the end of the OVAs. If you can find it, (very rare and hard to find, took me about a year to find a site that still had a few in stock), get this anime into your collection. you will not be disappointed.

The Video is about average for this one. 11 (pronounced double 1): Its very old and dated so don't expect much. It is extremely crisp though. 0: Didn't get to see that much of it, the DVD kept on freezing up and becoming unreadable. Saga: This one was alright. Good stuff Sin: The computer animations in this are awesome. there are lines the top of the screen though which suggests they ripped this from TV or something, yet the quality is too high for that to be. Also, all the openings and closings have been cut out (A huge minus).

Audio:

The auido has been done nicely on all four disks

BEWARE, IF YOU READ ONLY ONE PART OF THE REVIEW, READ THIS ONE!!!!!!!!! English subs are only on the first disk, 11. The rest of the discs (0, Saga, Sin) have Chinese subtitles that you can't turn off. Even the English subs on 11 are the worst I have ever seen. It takes a while to figure stuff out. Like they changed all the names. Here is a list of name changes that I can remember: Hyato Kazami: Zuhren Asuka Sugo: Some really long Chinese name Osamu Sugo: Xhu Also, the courses are known as meterdomes. Sure this is HK, but if you don't understand what is going on, then what is the point of subs anyway? Also, not having subs on 3 of the four disks is a surprise not warranted. I would have given it a zero, but 1) you can't give a title zero on something, and 2) they help, but just a little.

Comment:

Only buy this boxed set if you really want the anime. Its not worth it if you arn't already a fan of the series.
