This is a wonderful anime, and the basis of a screenplay I am writing! Video-- (4.5/5) Not much to say other than it was damn good. Audio-- (4/5) Well, it could have been a TINY bit better, but not much. The audio was great just a little quiet here and there. Maybe that was just the movie itself, though. :^P Subtitles-- (5/5) These have the BEST subtitles in the Archives of Studio Ghibli box set. That is all that is needed to be said. Content-- (5/5) Miyazaki is my favorite anime director, along with Takahata. I would seuggest buying the Studio Ghibli Set to anyone, as the R1s will NEVER be released. It's a very fine set, with movies enjoyable for anyone.

This item is a great overall item, just like AS/AC 's other DVDs for the Studio Ghibli movies. This particular movie is also known as Ocean Waves (which is the official English title). This 1993 movie is about a love traingle pretty much. There is not action at all in it so if you like your anime action-packed and violent this isn't for you. This DVD is as I said excellnet. The subtitling is just like the ohter Ghibli ones made by AS/AC. It is a fansub and is pretty much perfect. The audio and video are all good. Definitely a nice DVD. And you get 1 movie on 1 DVD instead of 3 movies on 1 DVD from the Ghibli boxsetthat is also available. edited by kitano on 16 Apr 2002 11:46 am
