The film focuses on the long distance relationship between Mikako and Noboru and the light years between them. Mikako was recruited for an elite space program to confront the alien threat that the Earth faces in a faraway future. In leaving the Earth, Mikako is separated from Noboru for the first time in her life. But as time passes, both of them realize that no matter how far away they are, they will never be apart.
