My comments on the A/V/Sub quality were pretty much covered in all of the previous reviews. What I did want to mention is this a slip-up in the OP/ED extras section that I don't think has been pointed out. On disc 3, I think, the "Creditless Ending 3" video is actually the Creditless Ending 2 replayed from disc 2. You can see by watching the endings on the actual episodes that the second version of the "Cross My Heart" ending has some significant differences in it's collage of scenes from than in the first version (CMH version 1 is used from eps 16 to 18, I think, and then CHM version 2 from eps 19 to 23. Probably because 19 ends with ... well, you know *sniff*). I guess it really isn't a biggy, as it's just one screw-up and the R1's that this is copied from may have made the same mistake. (but it's only that I noticed this when I went back to SPECIFICALLY make a screencap of where you see the faces of all the C-Project characters spread across the background from Ending 3 without all the credit text in the blocking them .. grr. And just a small warning - For some odd reason, by default, this set plays the English dub track with subtitles present. I made the mistake of not going through the set-up the first time I popped one of these DVDs in and started watching. I permanently lost about 10% of brain activity as a result.

it was almost as good as the r1 release. i love the way it looks. it look a little more washed out than the r1 though. it still look amazing though.

Audio:

i sounds as good. you can't count aya's dub voice as a mistake of the hk because it sounds as bad in the r1. it sounded amazing.

Subtitle:

this were r1 rips, and i didn't see any mistakes. i though they were great. no gramar, punctuation, or any mistakes. it was perfect, perfect, perfect, : P

Comment:

i like this series. i watched it first than fushigi yuugi, and i'm sorry to disapoint fushigi yuugi fans, but i thought this was much better. fushigi yuugi was really good, but ayashi had it going on all of the time and i didn't get tired of the love triangle because the series wasn't as long as yugi was.

Great video quality, ripped from R1s so very very little loss.

Audio:

The audio is perfect, but I strongly suggest listening to the Japanese dialogue, because the English dub is horrible.

Subtitle:

Perfect R1 rips, no missing lines, no lag times, no misspelling.

Comment:

This is a pretty cool series not nearly as great as Fushigi Yugi but it was still good. I did have a problem playing disc 2 and 3 on my Panasonic Dvd player. Maybe that is why FX discontinued the set.

Not much loss to this video, if any. I found some slight blur and tint disconfiguration. But other than that, nothing. Due to the age of this series, I doubt it's hard to find a better set.

Audio:

Nothing wrong here. Easilly flowing stereo, and it all lines up with the subs.

Subtitle:

There were a few gramatical issues I found, but nothing big. It has been discovered that the grammar issues are also present in the R1's.

Comment:

I love this series, I really do. It's one I do recomend to many anime fans, new and old-school.

Very good. Some slight pixelation and some hints of ghosting, but very seldom. I doubt that the R1 looks much better.

Nothing to complain about on my simple stereo TV

Perfect R1 rip.

A very good set of an interesting anime. I liked this more than Fushigi Yugi. Highly recommended.

Sounded Ok to me. I watched the original Japanese version and not the subbed .

R1 rips great, no problems, except maybe one of the interviews with creator of the series isn't subbed.

Comment:

Great R1 rip, no problems. Menus are in English, Contains some extras like Interviews with the Series Creator, Creditless Opening/Ending, Characther Bios and Sketches. Excelent set.

This is a well made set, as others have said. I have to agree though that the English voice acting could have been a whole lot better. Some of the voices were ok, but they could have done better research in finding voice acts that fit the part. Oh well. For the price, it is a great DVD set. Don't miss out!

Obviously another excellent set from FX. Perfect everything simply because it is an R1 rip even extras intact. Now my major gripe with this series was the numerous attempts to make it into a soap opera I mean what is up with all the brain washing, amnesia, and family thats rich and controls everything. Come on I mean it was like days of our lives or some other crappy soap opera, the only redeeming aspect was Yuhi the kungfu chef now he kicks ass. Sidenote: I also hate Miss Q her face is scary!

The video was very nice, but not great. I checked since I also had the first r1, and it's not FX's fault, it's Viz's fault. The subtitles were good, though VIZ didn't use very good translations, thus FX's were the same. Audio is fine. Japanese is a little lower.... but I must say... This is the most HORRIBLE DUB I have ever seen. Aya sounds like a retard with no emotion, and doesn't have that high angelic voice like in the Japanese version. This is CRAP ! Watch it in JAPANESE or you aren't getting the full experience. Content.... what can I say. I like it.

This is a well made dvd set. It has English dub, which I thought was good. Aya got annoying at times, but overall she was likeable. I didn't bother with the subtitles (unlike others with intolerable English voice actors) My wife liked this series more than I did. She was addicted to its soap opera style storyline and dialogues. The lovi-dubby thing went into tangents that I started to wonder if they forgot about the main storyline. In the end, they tied everything really well.

I would first like to mention that I have already purchased one of the R1s to compare this with, and here we go. Audio: The audio on my Surround Sound system is perfect. No hisses or pops, it seems to be exactly in par with the R1 (As it is an R1 Release). They give you the Japanese audio and the dub (I'd also like to mention I like the dub - must I remind some of you that certain studios can only afford newer voice actors, and that is why some dubs are called "horrible"). The Japanese audio is a little low, but it seems fine. Video: The video seems nice and crisp, perhaps a tad bit aged, but then again, so is the anime. It's certainly not a new anime, neither was Fushigi Yuugi. Subtitles: In par with the R1s. No spelling errors I saw, but then again, I only watched it for a few moments. As always, the subs running with the dub show some changes, nothing too major. Packaging: Lovely. Absolutely lovely. I give FX cheers on this. If you loved Fushigi Yuugi, this may be for you. Certainly not as funny, a tad more angsty, but still having the typical Watase Humor, along with love pyramids, this is a great anime for anyone looking for a love story.

I had just recently purchased this set and was pleasantly surprised. The video was crisp as well as the audio. I have not heard the English version as of yet however the Japanese audio was a bit soft at times and the volume had to be turned up a bit. The subtitles was wonderful (since it was an R1 rip) and much better than the other versions out there.

This was a good buy. There was virtually no difference in buying this set and paying big bucks for the R1. Video quality was excellent, so was the subbing and dubbing. I doubt i have to say anything about the storyline...

We got this one after the AS set put us in therapy. It's an R1 rip, so it's pretty hard to go wrong. of course, just because it has dubbing doesn't mean you should use that option, the voices are really annoying. Some of the poetic language is lost in the American translation, but that's to be expected. It has all the extras, all the opening/closing themes are intact, and reasonable artwork on the case. Even though this is one of the shoujo-iest shows around, it's also incredibly violent, and thankfully lacks the indecisiveness of Fushigi Yuugi.

Video: 5/5 - no problems, in my opinion great quality Audio: 5/5 - I didn't hear the english track, but the japanese one sounded very good to me Subs: 5/5 - RC1-Rip, so the subs are great and gramatically correct - also correct names! This is also the only HK-Set, that has the right names in the subtitles. And thats the big point for the fx-Set. Both, AS and MI have wrong names, such as Little Fairy instead of Aya and Ten nights instead of Tooya. This set has also all openings and endings on the DVD's - AS and MI just have one opening and one ending on each DVD. The set has also a lot of great extras - they are listet in the review below. My opinion: I love this set. It's the best RC0-Set of Ayashi no ceres and has a really great quality!

Video: The video is okay. Since it is ripped from the R1 dvds it suffers the same dullness and problems that the R1 had. But FX did a perfect transfer so the video problems were VIZ' s faultand not theirs. 4.5/5 Audio: There are Japanese and English audio they are both perfect 5/5 Packaging: The packaging is so beautiful the disc holders have beutiful manga images. The whole thing is perfect. 5/5 Subtitles: R1 rip no engrish. Nuff Said 5/5 Extras: 3 character galleries, 2 Design Galleries, A message from creator Yu Watase, Yu Watase Drawing, Promo Clip, Yu Watase interview, The Hagoromo legend, Textless ending versions 1,2,3,4 Textless opening 1,2 5/5 Other Info: This is the only Ceres Hk set worth buying by far since the rest suck so bad. It is a very good R1 rip. Also the dub is not so good it's not horrible but not excellent. If you don't do subs then it not too bad to listen to but if you don't watch dubs then just listen to it in japanese to save your self a headache.

Video: Well, the video is not so good. The color seems aged and the animation is poor. Even the R1 release of this set is not good. Well, this one is a rip of R1 release. Anyways, video is not very exciting to look at. Audio: Uh, english track sounded louder than Japanese track. But I guess its a minor problem. The thing is you don't wanna watch it dubbed. This is the worst dub I've ever seen. Just plain horrid. Subs: Very good subs because it ripped off R1. Overall: Good set if you don't watch it dubbed. I don't find the story very exciting though. Buy if you like shoujo romance stuff. (I like shoujo romance stuff...but I guess the dub kinda screwed up the enjoyment.)
