Wow! That's all I can say colors are vibrant and crisp. No pixelation that I could see!
Audio:
Also perfect to my ears. Music sound loud and action sequences really came out!
Subtitle:
All I can say is WTF??? FX?? Hello??? Okay the subs start okay. The end of eppisode two... non existant. Just suddenly you're left with sub free area! I was ready to cry. Also, what is up with the degree circles and K's? Does that mean that this anime is Kosher??
Comment:
If you can get over the Subtitle you've got a really good OVA on your hands. I'd recommend picking up the remastered version. This version is not bad if you are tight on your money!

No problems here what so ever! Perfect.

Great Audio my DTS liked it a lot!
Subtitle:
Heh I was enjoying it the little circle and K that poped up didn't really become frequent untill eppsiode there where they DOCTERED the entire subing with little circles and Ks. Lets not forget that you miss two mins of eppisode two at the very very end. I really wouldn't have mind it, but it happens to be a very very important part. So it's a bother.
Comment:
If you can get past the problems with the sub this is a good buy! Animation is clean. I think the Manga release is probably better from what I read. They've got some small compression, but there is no subbing problem like FX had.

Video/Audio: Everybody else has already said it... top notch in both departments. Subtitles: They are actually pretty decent subtitles with only a few timing problems and some funky punctuation... and they are kinda tiny... The biggest problem is the missing subs at the end of episode 2... I've seen a transcript floating around and I'll do my best to post it if I find it. Content: This is one of the slickest videos I've seen in a long time. It has the best integration I've seen of computer and traditional animation. As well as being technically stunning, it is packed with action and has some of the most creative ideas running around that I've seen in a long time. If you can find a copy of this with better (complete) subs then I highly recommend getting that copy. If not, you can get this release at a pretty good discount right now and the show is still a real treat to watch.

Great on my surround system!

Okay subs...pretty disappointing for an FX title. Names are correct...timing is a little off though. It's true the fonts are pretty small but if you watch it on a big screen TV then it's not a problem. The missing subs at the end of episode 2 are pretty annoying.

Excellent animation! Just amazing! I love the music too. It felt a lot like watching an action movie, only it's wacky and out of this world.

Perfect. Best video I've seen so far on HK-DVD.
Audio:
Perfect stereo.
Subtitle:
These are hard to judge. Generally they are quite good, but a sum of smaller errors is somehow adding up: The last five minutes or so of episode 2 aren't subbed. The font is far to small for my taste. Timing is sometimes a little bit off and sometimes lines are very fast. There are more than a few typos and "..." is replaced with "°K" most of the times.
Comment:
This anime is very stylish, radiating the flair of a late 60s british TV-Series. Ms. Deep surely reminds me of Emma Peel. I really should rewatch it in black and white. If there will be new episodes some day, I will be more than willing to follow the adventures of Her Majesty's Secret Service' Superagents again.

First off, let me just say that RoD is a great OAV. A lot of fun. But FX's release blows donkey spank. Yeah the video and audio quality is pretty good, but the subtitles were a major disappointment. Everybody had been telling me how incredible they were! "FX puts out the best subs on HK DVDs! Buy their releases". Honestly, this sucked. The font used was tiny. There were lots of distracting punctuation used throughout. And despite using a fansub script there were LOTS of problems throughout (not to mention the missing script at the end of episode 2). NOt that this release was horrible, it wasn't. I was just expecting the second coming after all the hype.

The subtitles are good, but they are written in too small a font, and ten minutes are lacking at the end of episode 2.

This is one of teh must see animes. The story is totally original and the animation is great!!! Each episode is fast paced with a lot of action. The video quality is very good, about a 4-4.5 Audio quality is also good. It's not 5.1 but how many hkdvd are...No hissing came from the rear speakers. Subs are where there's a little trouble. The timing is off on some of the lines. I only paused and rewound 4-5 times. Of course there's the missing 2 minutes that everyone knows about. You kind of understand what's going on but at least check out the scripts after the ep. All in all, ROD was well worth it. I'm not sure how the MI version will come out but this was very good.

Such a cool OVA. One of those rare anime that didnt sacrifice quality for quantity. There is more to be appreciated in this 3 episode story than in most 26 episode shows ive seen. Video:4.5 Great transfer, though some really picky people might pause it and find some pixelation to complain about. Overall its fantastic, better than many R1s. Audio:5 Perfect in my eyes. Great seperation. I dont have a dts setup so i dont know whether that is available. The music is pretty hip as well. Very dynamic. Subs: 3.5 Fansubs, and therefore the subs are superb when everything it working right. Unfortunately there are a few problems. Every once in a while a line or two will fall behind. Also(a point that has been literally driven into the ground on the Arcticnightfall forum), the subs are missing for the last two minutes of Ep 2. It is a pretty crucial scene, and therefore the lack of subs is annoying, BUT it is easy to pick out whats going on. I definitely wasnt lost afterwards. A full script of ep 2 is available on Animeniacs.net anyway. A high quality anime in everyway, fortunately with a high quality release as well.
