Convention Recommendations

I was wondering if any of you people know any GOOD cons to go to. I have never been to one at all, and i want to go to one out of my state. Can some of you make recommendations for cons for me (try to recommend one that has karaoke contests )

I know of a few but I am not sure what month or anything you wanted to go during.

I went to ani-magic last year andtheyhad kareoke contests but I did not stay for them. It starts on October first and ends on the third.
