How is this setup?

I am currently looking at the Gantz Pefect Collection. How would the visual qualty be if it was 1 DVD 9 and 2 DVD 5? and for the audio, Ac3 2.0/5.1 Channel, aspect ratio 4:3. I know alot of people dont like DVD 5s, but can someone tell me a reason as to why that is?
