Question about Gamecube

I just recently purchased a Gamecube this week and I got it all set up, but every time I start it up regardless if their's a game in it or not it always makes one large clicking noise, it only does it once but at every startup. I was woundering if someone could tell me if this is a bad sign and if I need to return it, or if GC's do that normally?
